If I think I'm going to watch a film again a couple of times, and the disc I have at the moment isn't up to much, I will replace my disc.
Like for example if I have a 4:3 video transfer disc and an anamorphic 1.77:1 version with superior sound comes out I'll get that, like for example.

etc.
I don't buy new versions of films just for the hell of it, need to have a good reason.
