A remarkably stylish Giallo that has some gorgeous cinematography. As much a homage to Fincher's Se7en as classic Gialli, especially in how the narrative unfolds with each murder nice and gruesome. Director Eros Puglielli allows the film to play out at a rapid pace and is helped by a script that's not over complicated. It was great to see genre legend Simon Andreu from Ercoli's Death Walks films (among others) in a pivotal role.
A very welcome and very late entry into the yellow genre, quite simply Eyes of Crystal is the best Giallo since Argento's Opera way back in 1987. |
I bought the DVD of that one years ago and remember that I really enjoyed it as well.
