Deathwatch. 2002.
During WWI, nine British soldiers caught behind enemy lines take refuge in a captured German trench with a German P.O.W. soldier who warns them that there is evil there.
This was probably done on a small/medium budget but certainly pays off and well acted, Andy Serkis seems to be ready for battle with anyone and willing to apply a little torture on screen. It does show the horror of going into a no man's land and expect the unexpected but they don't expect it to be haunted. The tone of the film at the starts sees the British in their trench getting ready to attack while bombs are going off and Jamie Bell going from a wimp to a man during the film. It does have great cinematography, good haunting background score and good effects with the barb wire moment.
