Your text doesn't correlate with the link either. You say "In 1981, Ivan Reitman’s 'Ghostsmashers' had nearly been completed when John Belushi unfortunately died and production was halted for a few months. When shooting resumed, Eddie Murphy, John Candy and Paul Reubens were unable to reprise their roles due to other contractual obligations (because of Beverly Hills Cop, Splash and Pee-Wee’s Big adventure respectively)

However the info page you posted says In late 1981, Dan Aykroyd began writing his first draft.[5] Work on the script was slow and steady over the next few years due to other projects Aykroyd worked on. On March 5, 1982, while he was writing one of Venkman's lines, Aykroyd heard Belushi had passed away

Beverly Hills Cop was 1984. Three years later than you are suggesting.
I agree with, and accept everything you say, but the first draft of 'Beverley Hills Cop', under the title 'Beverley Drive', was actually written in 1981 and it's possible that Eddie Murphy was under consideration for the film
