Was it released theatrically?
According to
Deadline, it "came to Disney via the Fox merger due to New Regency?s attachment, was originally set for a theatrical release a few times (Oct. 23, 2020; Jan. 23 and then Feb. 26) under the 20th Century Studios label, but the pandemic upended that with Disney ultimately pulling the LGBTQ+ release off the calendar."
After this, the rights were bought by Amazon Prime and they probably want to keep them making it exclusively available on its streaming service.
