I haven't caught up with
Maniac or
Hysteria yet (I have both of them here), but I too found
Straight On Till Morning a rather dull affair. It's a typical 70's psycho-thriller, but it's certainly not one of Hammer's best.
Fear in the Night is great fun though and is probably elevated to a higher status because of the presence of Peter Cushing.
My favourite 70's Brit psycho-thriller has to be
Fright, though.
