Forget the muscled hunks of True Blood and the Twilight movies, and get down and dirty with George Romero’s spendidly gritty and gruesome low-budget account of the titular character, played by John Amplas. who believes he Is a vampire, but might simply be deranged. As he attempts to sate his blood lust he is plagued at every turn by a bearded priest who shouts out “Nosferatu!” at inopportune moments. It’s gruesome, rough-around- the-edges fun.
