Commando (1985)

Is it just me or would anyone else like to see a fully uncut UK edition of Arnie's Commando? As far as I'm aware you can only get the rubbish cut version over here!

I have never seen it all the way through but yes, an uncut version would be welcome.

Even better would be to release the director's cut over here that was released in the U.S. a while back

The BBFC waived the original cinema cuts (2 scenes) in 2007 but it doesn't seem to have appeared yet. The DVD suffered ridiculous distributor edits on top of the BBFC cuts.

at one point Play showed a Commando ultimate edition as coming soon but it quickly disappeared off the site

My boyfriend's got an uncut version from France but the director's cut over here would be pretty awesome. It's such a fun action film it's a shame to see it so mistreated in the UK!

The Director's cut is awesome. The toolshed scene is pretty brutal and we actually see Matrix chopping off one of the soldiers arms(although i think that was cut by the bbfc) unfortunately the mythical scene of him slapping said soldier with his own arm isn't there. The director says it was just too ridiculous and they didnt shoot it.Shame.

Yes it was. The other BBFC cut was to the closing tracking shot of the impaled Bennett.

Stephen@Cult Labs 27th November 2009 04:04 PM

I thought so.The director's cut then shows another shot of the soldier on the ground waving his stump for a second
