Just need to get Death Warrant, Sudden Death and Cyborg out on Blu-ray now

I'll need to get The Quest myself. Let's hope Hard Target comes out here before the US. Really don't want the R-rated version.

Finally got around to watching it and found it different to what I expected, quite brutal actually, but I enjoyed it.

pedromonkey 2nd April 2012 02:19 PM

I watched Assassination Games, i reviewed it on my site and to be honest i thought it was crap, it was really badly shot badly acted by Adkins and i'm a fan of his, Van Damme was suffering after a mini heart attack during filming and at points didn't seem to be in the right frame of mind in some shots. It had this horrible sepia tint to the film that really annoyed the hell out of me and the plot was nothing we hadn't seen before.

Drakie79 3rd April 2012 10:24 PM

Some of what you say I cannot help but agree with, it was weaker than alot of their other work, but nonetheless I found it overall entertaining and enjoyable. What it really needed much better editing and after watching either of the latter Undisputed films it needed better fight scenes!!!!
Kept expecting Black Dynamite to pop up too!!!!

I disagree. I watched this and while its nowhere near close to his better films I still really enjoyed it and though Van Damme was brilliant in it. The relationship he had with his abused neighbour is what made the film for me. Without this it would have been average.

I have started a thread in Why Don't Arrow Release. section for AWOL. It would be great if people voiced their support for a release of this so Arrow consider it.

I Am Omega is AWESOME!!!!...

Some of his early stuff like Kickboxer and Lionheart would sell well on Arrow i think, but he is a required taste.

Van Damme's acting has got a lot better through the yrs, i wonder why he had to fight to get Bloodsport released on VHS

Apparently the original version was absolutely terrible. So he personally spent time recutting it and adding the new music track.

It worked as he made it into arguably the second greatest martial arts movie ever behind Enter the Dragon.

This is also what got him the directors role on The Quest. But he was addicted to cocaine at this time so made an inferior film < (his own words paraphrased from a documentary I remember).

You've obviously never seen Beverly Hills Ninja.

Bringer Of Funerals 13th May 2012 03:35 PM

We want him to star in a Ninja film like Ultimate Ninja by Geoffrey Ho

Van Damme has a new film coming out called 6 Bullets and the story is he is a ex soldier and he is hired by a MMA fighter to find his missing daughter and its meant to be a pretty solid action film.

It was called The Butcher during filming. Thank god they changed the title!

Has anyone seen Dragon Eyes? If so, how much Van Dammage do we get as I get the feeling that he's not in it all that much?

Andra Jai 9th July 2012 08:52 PM

The transfer looks stunning for anyone interested

WillCarter 12th July 2012 07:21 PM

There aren't many more entertaining things than a Van Damme film, personal favourite is Bloodsport, in my opinion not just one of the greatest Van Damme films, but one of the most entertaining films of that era full stop. Kickboxer is another great one and probably 'the' classic Van Damme film in a way. Also recently purchased Sudden Death, the Helicopter scene is one of the best ever in any action film and although I prefer his martial arts films to his all out action films it's still an entertaining effort.

Bringer Of Funerals 8th September 2012 11:08 AM

6 Bullets looks really good but im not a fan of that cover art it looks over photoshopped (if thats possible)

Six Bullets [Blu-ray]: Amazon.co.uk: Jean-Claude Van Damme, Kristopher Van Varenberg, Bianca Bree, Ernie Barbarash: Film & TV

Misericordia 7th January 2013 12:57 AM

I used to love Van Damme movies as a kid, and I still like them when I have the opportunity to check them again from time to time.

One of my favorites was Timecop, many criticize that movie very hard, (like almost all his films) is neither fair nor right, let's face it if this movie would have interpreted Tom Cruise or Bruce Willis, many talk about how amazing it was .

It is also very well done and is well served by spectacular fights. Jean-Claude Van Damme is impressive in action scenes and rightly fulfilling in the interpretive aspect.

I also think that his career is slowly re-emerging.

Susan Foreman 7th January 2013 03:43 PM

And Sly Stallone

And John Travolta

In fact, all these real men do it

Now...are you going to say that you are not a real man, and do you don't do it?

*Note - as a foot note, I really love men who are comfortable enough to wear woman's clothes. Shame there are not enough 'real men' on the forum!!!

**Come on guys - post pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stephen@Cult Labs 7th January 2013 04:04 PM

Nope, not a real man then.

Hi everyone!

There's not long until we see the brand new Van Damme film released on DVD and Blu-ray; Enemies Closer (available on the 21st July). Damme is back as a villain again - full of incredible action as only Van Damme can do.

So, what better time to bump this thread up!

How many Van Damme movies have you seen? Which are your faves?

Find out your score by clicking this pic...

Welcome to the Jungle is his most recent film, Alien Uprising (aka U.F.O.), is a UK film, he has a small cameo, probably due to his daughter starring in it.

Anth 3rd July 2014 05:24 PM

I have seen 30.

I technically could add two more if I wanted to be sneaky as I turned off knock off after about 20mins as I hated it. And turned off JCVD after about 20 mins as was distracted with something but then forgot to go back to it.

I really want to see Welcome to the Jungle, but I do not know where you can get it from. I have searched a few times with no success.

The biggest shame from looking at this list is Lionheart (AKA AWOL), as its easily one of his best films (many would argue his absolute best film, but I would say Bloodsport is his best film) but it has had shoddy treatment on DVD and nothing on Blu-ray.

It seems odd why this has not been remastered and released in Widescreen in either the UK or USA as it cannot be stuck under any rights issues.

Its the only film of his to be treat so shoddily. Its only available in the UK and USA in 4:3 and the PQ is terrible.
