When Foxy Brown’s undercover-agent boyfriend is gunned down on the orders of evil drug kingpins, she stops at nothing to exact a thrillingly brutal revenge. This is one of the all-time great blaxploitation films, pulling out all the stops at a time long before anyone thought of inventing political correctness.

Pam Grier was given the role of a lifetime as the street-smart yet intensely sexy Foxy, modelling a stupendously varied range of Seventies threads while righteously kicking villainous white butt at every opportunity. She’s also given sterling support from Antonio ‘Huggy Bear’ Fargas as her no-good younger brother and a memorably funky soundtrack.

It’s clear that Quentin Tarantino is a huge fan: he cast Grier in the title role of his direct homage Jackie Brown, while the one-woman revenge scenario that fuelled the Kill Bill films didn’t just come from the Far East.

Special Features:
- Limited Edition SteelBook packaging
- Restored High Definition Blu-ray presentation (1080p)
- Optional English SDH subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing
- Audio commentary with director Jack Hill
- From Black and White to Blaxploitation – Actor Sid Haig speaks about his long and influential friendship with Jack Hill
- A Not So Minor Influence – An Interview with Bob Minor, the first African-American member of the Stuntman’s Association, and co-star of Foxy Brown
- Back to Black – Legendary actors Fred “The Hammer” Williamson (Black Caesar) and Austin Stoker (Sheba Baby, Assault on Precinct 13), alongside Rosanne Katon (Ebony, Ivory, and Jade) and film scholar Howard S. Berger speak about the enduring popularity of the Blaxploitation film

Same. I'm hoping its on the reverse of the steelbook.

Baseball Fury 23rd January 2013 12:33 PM

I really like the steelbook!

People that don't, y'all niggers are CRAZY.

Rik 23rd January 2013 12:35 PM

Not much of a fan of this genre, but that steelbook is mighty enticing, I think I'll probably get this eventually. The normal artwork is very impressive though

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 23rd January 2013 12:35 PM

I prefer the artwork on the keep case, but I'll probably buy the Steelbook.

Gojirosan 23rd January 2013 01:58 PM

Both pics are nice, but I don't like steelbooks.

Demdike@Cult Labs 23rd January 2013 03:01 PM

Decent features as well.

Jinx_Barkman 23rd January 2013 05:43 PM

The regular blu is my favorite artwork of the new titles that were just announced. I love some Pam Grier.

Criterion7 23rd January 2013 05:44 PM

Don't like the steelbook artwork. I'll pick this one up, Coffy's a better film though.

Prince_Vajda 23rd January 2013 05:49 PM

I very much like 'Foxy Brown', and I adore Pam Grier. An excellent and cute-looking actress. I'm going to buy this. I think both covers look great.

Holy smoke! I'm in a public place at the moment - if they kick me out of the restaurant due to my boner, I will blame you, Reaps! :D

I really like Coffy – maybe that will follow if Foxy Brown sells well.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 23rd January 2013 05:53 PM

Can't whack that Coffy themesong!;)

ReturnToZero 23rd January 2013 06:05 PM

Is the woman on the steelbook supposed to look like Pam Grier or just some hot random black chick?

Peachy.

antmumford 23rd January 2013 07:38 PM

Her nips are way too wonky for my liking or was that a gif that just happens to have an unfortunate still pic for us Tapatalk users?

buggenhagen 23rd January 2013 07:45 PM

Looking forward to this, haven't owned a copy since the VHS days (which was probably the last time I saw it too). I'm loving the steel book so will probably go for that. Roll on more blaxploitation releases.

Agreement on all three points (Coffy is the colour) . . .

I've got that, a very handy comprehensive guide to the genre, and chock full of cool posters  . . .

Rik 16th April 2013 01:59 PM

For those members that are interested, here's the steelbook proof

https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.n...64706494_n.jpg

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 16th April 2013 02:08 PM

I'm still not over enamoured with the front, but the inside is spot on.

Rik 16th April 2013 08:49 PM

Yeah, that cover art isn't the best, same goes for the Blow Out one, but seeing as I've no real interest in either I'm not bothered

Stephen@Cult Labs 16th April 2013 09:12 PM

I thought it was new artwork Arrow had commisioned, but it's actually an original poster, which is much better than Arrow's. It incorporates the front and rear images used on the steelbook, and a few more.

Slippery Jack 16th April 2013 09:15 PM

Yeah I don't get why they chopped up the original poster like that. That seperated single image of Pam on the front looks really sparse and clinical surrounded by all that white. Not a good move . . .

Would have been awesome if they'd left it like that! I agree with SJ, it does look a bit too clinical with so much white on there. Still, I'll be getting the steelbook rather than the standard one (actually, if the normal bluray has the art Stephen mentioned I might be tempted by that)

Rik 16th April 2013 09:22 PM

I would imagine that poster will be on the reverse, unless they've commisioned new artwork for it instead

Slippery Jack 16th April 2013 09:23 PM

...they've also messed up that iconic typography, bringing 'Brown' up onto the same level as 'Foxy' and sticking that big gap between them, and changing the colour to an ugly green

If I'm being really picky, that lazy photoshopping sticks out, where they've had to fade out her ass where it was covered by another image on the poster . . .

Rik 16th April 2013 09:30 PM

Well at least the inside looks pretty cool
Not a genre I've ever been a fan of TBH, so I'd need to watch this first before I part with any cash for it

The reverse of the standard edition? I would've expect the one below on that.

http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/04/17/5y2unuzu.jpg

Of course. I won't complain if they use the full version of the steelbook artwork.
