I would also like to add in regards to this little 'apologists' squabble, All I can say on these forums is my opinion. Maybe as I run my films through a ps3 on to a 32" telly i lack the equipment to properly assess the problems with these discs, but then my experience of watching them isn't as bad as some people have expreienced but all I can give is my own impressions, this isnt being an apologist.

1080p isn't meant to be viewed on a 32" screen, (40"+ is the recommended size based on average viewing distance), so yeah you won't be able to see the noise problem properly.

However, even a good 23" or 24" screen will allow you to differentiate between real film grain and digital noise!

Greetings!
