Super Bitch aka Blue Movie Blackmail (Arrow Video DVD)

http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...TCH_2D_DVD.jpg

THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU HIRE HER

Blue movie blackmail and sexual depravity are at the heart of a wicked scam to manipulate rich, perverted men in this softcore pasta crime classic from Massimo Dallamano, cinematographer on A Fistful of Dollars and director of Giallo favourite What Have You Done To Solange?

Italian trash cinema icon Ivan Rassimov is a police inspector working undercover to expose a London escort agency where the frequently naked Stephanie Beacham is being filmed in sexually compromising situations with her moneyed clients. These poor chumps will soon be smuggling drugs across international borders for her and her shadowy associates.

Wallow in the sleaze and enjoy the depravity of Super Bitch, a film with all the car chases, murder, sex and moral ambiguity a cult movie fan could possibly want.

The Night Child aka The Cursed Medallion (Arrow Video DVD)

http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...ILD_2D_DVD.jpg

YOU’LL NEED MORE THAN AN EXORCIST TO SAVE THE NIGHT CHILD

When a documentarian delves into the dark world of satanic art for a new film, he unearths a disturbing painting that leads him into a world of post-Exorcist Italo-Horror where cursed medallions, possessed children and the overwhelming power of the dark lord converge to create a visually stunning and wildly eccentric exploitation classic from Massimo Dallamano (Venus in Furs, What Have You Done With Solange?)

With Italian cult cinema child star Nicoletta Elmi (Who Saw Her Die?, A Bay of Blood) as the motherless, demon-demented daughter and Zombie Flesh Eaters’ Richard Johnson as the filmmaker searching for the evil truth, The Night Child is a perfect example of expertly shot, beautifully crafted B-cinema.

See a young girl descend into the hellish pit of demonic possession in The Night Child, a textbook example of 70s euro-horror from an Italian exploitation master.

SPECIAL FEATURES:
- New widescreen transfer in the original ratio
- Newly translated optional English subtitles
- Optional English and Italian audio tracks
- EXORCISM ITALIAN-STYLE: Author and critic Paolo Zelati, filmmaker Luigi Cozzi and screenwriter Antonio Tentori reflect on the brief boom in pasta-possession movies which rushed out of Rome in the wake of William Friedkin's classic THE EXORCIST.

http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2..._FE_2D_DVD.jpg

THEY WILL RISE TO SUCK THE BLOOD OF THE LIVING!

From the sleazy video nasty vaults comes a movie so stained with controversy and moral indignation that the very mention of its name sends shudders down the spines of the weak stomached and censorious – Zombie Flesh Eaters. A gut-munching, shark wrestling, eye-gouging orgy of topless skin divers, mud-caked undead terror and Italian splatter from the dark imagination of horror genius Lucio Fulci (The Beyond, City of The Living Dead).

An abandoned boat in New York Harbour unleashes a deadly flesh crazed Zombie cargo... A Young American woman and a journalist investigate a tropical island where a deadly disease is making the dead walk... Soon, thoughts of getting to the bottom of the murderous curse will be forgotten, as Fulci’s walking corpses overwhelm the living and reports come in that the Big Apple is swarming with the living dead...

After over thirty years, Zombie Flesh Eaters still has the power to shock and offend the unwilling... Check out this classic ‘sadist video’ and revel in a wonderfully offensive movie that once helped usher in a moral panic!

Gojirosan 2nd August 2012 11:32 AM

This should be THE definitive release of The Cursed Medallion. Very pleased.

I will buy Superbitch, The Cursed Medallion and Christmas Evil as soon as they are released.

WELL DONE ARROW! It's been a while, but you have come up trumps again finally!

ReturnToZero 2nd August 2012 11:33 AM

The Night Child artwork is excellent!

trouserpress 2nd August 2012 11:34 AM

I've never heard of The Night Child, but if Richard Johnson's in it, I want it!

You do want it. Really.

This release will be the one to have too, as it has both audio tracks. The Italian DVD is great, but it only has the Italian dub (which is not the preferred format since the cast spoke English).

The Code Red release is OOP and only had the English audio - preferable, but it's nice to have the option!

Slippery Jack 2nd August 2012 11:38 AM

Funny seeing the artwork after wrongly second guessing the blurry shots

Bravo! Very pleased with that lineup, might get em all  . . .

bizarre_eye@Cult Labs 2nd August 2012 11:38 AM

This is a great slate of releases.

It's also nice to see Arrow taking a chance with some more obscure titles! I've never seen Super Bitch. It's been a looong time since I've been able to say that about an Arrow release, too.

robertzombie 2nd August 2012 11:39 AM

I wonder if the non-steelbook ZFE releases will contain "the hand" artwork on the reverse...

PaulD 2nd August 2012 11:39 AM

Sod the haters; this is a tremendous bunch of releases! I personally prefer these sort of films over The Wild Geese, Who Dares Wins and Red Scorpion to be honest.

Chuffed I guessed it was at least Santa in the blurry picture release. And really glad these are less-than-obvious choices, especially since I haven't seen 2 of these films. Still surprised ZFE isn't getting a limited edition release though after Arrow said certain titles still would. If this doesn't then I don't know what else would deserve it really.

fuzzymctiger 2nd August 2012 11:39 AM

That is the sexiest steelbook in existence. Puts anything on play.com to SHAME.

It had wrong ratio too. I may buy this one too eventually so i have all three ;)

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 2nd August 2012 11:47 AM

An excellent selection of releases, with several films I hadn't previously heard of, let alone seen and which will so proudly in Arrow's catalogue and on my shelf.

I love the titles, the synopses, the extra features and the artwork, so great work Arrow – I'll be a very happy bunny when all of these have been released and are in my collection.

It has to!

Pete 2nd August 2012 12:01 PM

That NIGHT CHILD (aka CURSED MEDALLION) artwork is amazing!

Like Goji, I'll be getting these the minute they come out (well, I may wait a bit before I pick up CRIMBO EVIL)

Daemonia 2nd August 2012 12:03 PM

Nice line-up of releases. Good to see some new stuff coming from Arrow. :)

platostotal 2nd August 2012 12:03 PM

ZFE... if the Blu is a huge up from Arrow's dvd will have to go for that, but even a nice sharp clean uncut dvd transfer will do me, liking the extras too, I see Arrow dvds retailing for £12 so would have liked ZFE dvd to come in at that price point, but that's just my normal pricing whinge.

Tel 2nd August 2012 12:15 PM

SWEET.

Tel 2nd August 2012 12:20 PM

Love the Christmas Evil cover can’t wait to get all of them on my shelf.

Justin101 2nd August 2012 12:20 PM

I'm really excited for these, maybe not Christmas Evil but then I'm not really into that type of thing. I love that Arrow has worked in conjunction with Death Waltz Recordings and used the new artwork for ZFE, because it looks awesome.

Nagaman 2nd August 2012 12:21 PM

I'd never heard of Super Bitch and that looks pretty interesting, so that's a definate purchase.
I haven't seen Night Child and never got around to picking up the Code Red release, so that's another purchase for sure.
Not so excited about Christams Evil, but will be getting this one too at some point.
And as for ZFE, no Ltd Slip Case - but as I speculated in another thread recently - that Steelbooks would be the new Ltd Slipcase - so happy with that, that's a definate purchase. Will probably pick up the other editions too.
All in all, very happy with these announcments. :)

Rik 2nd August 2012 12:34 PM

**** it, I'm buying all of them! Bravo Arrow, great selection of titles and some awesome artwork too! 3 new editions of ZFE to add to my collection and 3 films I've never seen before. So many awesome releases coming up I doubt I'll have much left of my student loan by the time Christmas comes along :)

Other than ZFE I wasn't familiar with any of the other 3, The Night Child certainly sounds right up my street and Super Bitch I'm going to have a try with - but first time in ages i've been pysched about new releases :D

Pre-orders in already.

James Morton 2nd August 2012 12:42 PM

MatOfTheDead 2nd August 2012 12:43 PM

right arrow shut up and take my money!

Roughale 2nd August 2012 12:49 PM

That steelbook is so mine, I don't care that I have and love the BU BD already, I might have skipped this as it is no longer the old white box design (probably not though as this was my first zombie film back in the days ) but this great steelbook is a winner - thank you, now I only need to see it at amazon, should be no problem to preorder this baddie, which is still banned over here and once it is out it may not be deliverable to a German address...

Me too - much more my kinda thing. I'll be getting all of these ( well, CE may have to wait its turn! ).

Not mad on steelbooks, so I'll be getting the Blu-ray ZFE set.

Excellent ( and let's be honest ) unexpected releases. :)

Have you seen them all? I only ask because I haven't heard of one of them and have only seen Zombie Flesh Eaters!

As for pre-ordering these, there's only one thing to say:

Don't winge too much yet! I've been doing some price comparison:

There seems to be a large discrepancy between the prices on the forum, and those on Arrow's website. On the forum the prices for ZFE are listed as follows:

ZFE SteelBook – 2 BD Discs [Artwork Exclusive] RRP £29.99
ZFE BD – 2 BD Discs RRP £24.99
ZFE DVD – 2 DVD Discs £19.99

And on Arrow's site the RRPs for all 3 are listed as £19.99.

However the Pre-order prices are £17.99, £14.99, and £12.99 respectively!
As a point of reference, they are currently listed as £20.99, £16.09, and £14.99 on Amazon.

Confusing right?! So I decided to pre-order from Arrow now, before the prices get brought into line.

Rik 2nd August 2012 01:13 PM

I'm busy trying to coax a good vocal take in the studio right now so I can't check, but Sainsburys Entertainment seem to be the cheapest these days for pre-orders

Colonel Cabbage 2nd August 2012 01:14 PM

As for the other 3, they all have RRPs of £15.99 on the forum and Arrow website, Arrow pre-order prices of £8.99, and Amazon prices of £11.99.

I'll have a look...

Edit: Had a look and none of the titles are listed at the moment.

BAKA 2nd August 2012 01:22 PM

Great line up, looking forward to them. A massive improvement over anything Arrow have announced this year so far, in my opinion. I'm always a little dubious with DVD only releases, but actually, I wouldn't say any of these films are really crying out for a Blu-ray release.

I also recall Arrow mentioning we'd see the benefits of Arrow going Dual Format over LE in the new year (in terms of freeing up more cash towards acquisitions), so that coupled with this line up, make me excited for them again.

MatOfTheDead 2nd August 2012 01:22 PM

is the ZFE steel book available from play.com or just arrows website?

Hawkmonger 2nd August 2012 01:25 PM

Hurrah! Super Bitch! And The Night Child also! Excelent! Christmas Evil is great new's also and will make a good companion piece to Silent Night, Deadly Night.
Do I need to comment of ZFE?

Doesn't appear to be on play.com at the moment, but I would be surprised if it didn't appear on there later.

trouserpress 2nd August 2012 01:29 PM

I'm looking forward to trying to win all of these at some point from Kyle.

Am I the only one who prefers the art on the regular BD of ZFE to the steelbook?
