Graphic Novels You'd Love To See Turned Into A Film

Hi everyone,

So over the past few years, Hollywood has gone superhero crazy! There's so many coming out and even more planned for the future. The latest addition to the genre, Ant-Man looks like it's going to be a lot of fun from the new trailer...

So, here's a question for all those who read graphic novels. Which other comics would you love to see adapted for the big screen?

Whether it's another Marvel superhero book or a dark, independent horror comic - old or new! - let us know below...

I've no idea how it would be done, but Black Hole by Charles Burns could be awesome. David Fincher was apparently going to direct an adaptation with Brad Pitt, but the last I heard Fincher had turned his attentions to a remake of Strangers on a Train instead.

Off the top of my head, I would have to go for the Batman GN, The Killing Joke featuring The Joker. I won't go into plot details, but I will say that if you haven't read this yet, then hunt it down ASAP!

A Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers film wouldnt go amiss either.

Neonomicon by Alan Moore would be great but if it was to be done then the censors would freak out

I haven't read them myself, but I've seen them when my brother read them, and everything I saw made me think Transmetropolitan, if animated or rotoscoped like Waking Life and A Scanner Darkly, would be quite a trip!

I was going to suggest that, but then thought it would be a bit too heavy! Palestine would also make for a thought-provoking and intelligent film.

Not a graphic novel per se, but when are we going to get a big budget Call Of Cthulhu? I'm beginning to think that I'll never get to see it in my lifetime. :censored:

Look Call me miserable if you want but 99% of time i have no interest in these films.
X men, iron man, are just 2 prime eg, if they went back to good old fashioned film making like the original superman then i might be inferested, good story decent action, now its to Hollywood blockbuster style and try to fit in as much crash bang wallop action and heaps of cgi and special effecfs and so on and so on. Like Transformers, i saw the first one and that was bad enough for me. They work as a kids cartoon etc but not a film imo. But hey they make loads of money and sequels so what do i know . Nowt i guess or maybe not mmmm eh! maybe thats why new and old films collectors keep going for the oldies and try avoid a lot from 90s onwards. Best ones from after that are the type that slip under the radar or made the good old fashioned way. Some are just by word of mouth. Either way the oldies are the best imo.

Well, apparently they are finally going to have a stab at Preacher....this is not for kids at all...though it does have a happy ending

The Incal would be interesting to see as a film or even a tv show adaptation

Slaine would be amazing

One of my favourite stories from when i used to read 2000ad.

6566329 13th May 2017 09:45 PM

I was just in a comic shop and one of my favourite comics, My Friend Dahmer by Derf Backderf, had a "Soon to be a major motion picture" sticker on the front. I got very excited. If you've not checked it out, it's about Jeffrey Dahmer and written by one of his high school friends.

2000AD-wise, can I get a Flesh movie? I haven't read loads of it, but, visually, that would be incredibly.

I'd love a proper take on Vampirella and Red Sonja. With actresses who have the correct physical attributes and aren't afraid to wear the costumes.

Never gonna' happen is it?

bleakshaun 14th May 2017 08:34 AM

Rogue Trooper would be great

SymbioticFunction 14th May 2017 12:13 PM

Would love to see more 2000ad adaptions, especially Slaine. If Slaine was happening, I'm guessing that they would have to omit any dwarf beatings as that isn't very politically correct. :)

btw Did you hear the news that a television series called "Judge Dredd: Mega-City One" has been greenlit?
