Shameless distribution
 

Hi guys,

Finally managed to pick up New York Ripper at my local HMV but still haven't managed to track down Phantom of Death :(

HMV claim they could order it, Virgin don't intend to stock it and my preferred e-tailer (Bensonsworld) tell me they haven't had *any* shameless titles at all!

Whats going on ? I have a tenner here with Shameless' name on it, but nobody seems to want it.

I managed to pick up a copy earlier today in HMV who seem to have recieved some stock since I checked last weekend, but hopefully your intervention with Bensonsworld will mean they will be able to fill my pre-orders for Killer Nun and Torso in a more reasonable time-scale.

Glad you could get your hands on our crud ok! Bensonsworld now have listings for Torso (which is a cracker), Killer Nun (one of my all time faves), Venus in Furs (naughty!) and Black Cat (underrated Fulci).

Anyway you know where to come if you have a problem! I'd be interested to hear what you reckon of the DVDs once you've had a chance to rest from scouring the shops.

No we appreciate every purchase! Were there a few copies of each or did you snaffle the only two?

Ha, thought you might ask... So I counted! (I'm sad, sue me... no, please don't!) They had... *Clears throat* 8 copies of PoD and 7 copies of NYR! Whoop.

I noticed them soon as I looked at the Horror isle... they sure do stand out :D

Good work sir! They should stand out really what with those horrible covers of ours! We do rapidly appear to becoming the marmite of the DVD sleeve world! ;)

I showed the covers off to the Wildside forum, they are diggin them big time-o!

Like put David Hasselhoff on every cover... wait, that probably wouldn't do it either!

The nearest HMV to me is in Truro. I shall have a (mahatma) gander when I'm next there to see if they're Shamelessly stocked. :)

It's actually a great help to us as each time we get this info we pass it back to the sales company and they slowly but surely fix it where possible.

Have checked. No New York Ripper's but they have a couple of copies of Phantom Of Death. HMV Truro are indeed Shamelessly stocking. :)

With the imminent release of Shameless' next wave I guess we will find out if BensonsWorld are sorted. I left my order for PoD open with them (despite having picked it up elsewhere) as I felt a little guilty at the trouble I had put you guys to (and anyway it will make a cool Christmas present for an unsuspecting relative). They still haven't filled it :(

Sorry to hear that, we'll have to see what's going on with that. Unfortunately Almar's away at the moment but I'll point him this way when he gets back.

Who's the relative going to be? I can imagine their expression as they unwrap their presents to find lurid yellow DVDs inside! :D

Not sure yet. Will need to get my little black book out and see who has upset me the most ;)

Just got messages from HMV saying that Torso and Killer Nun have been shipped - can't wait! :) Good review at dvdtimes.co.uk of Killer Nun, btw.

Didn't see them in Derby today!! :confused: They had the first two but they're gone now. I was going to buy Phantom Death.

Checked HMV in Truro once again and Phantom Of Death, Torso (one copy) and Killer Nun can be seen gracing the shelves. No sign of New York Ripper though.

Will be in Plymouth next week so I'll check out if Shameless products can be found there.

The first two Shameless releases are there but to date (27/12) I can't find listings for Killer Nun or Torso on Play.com.

Both titles are available on Amazon and Sendit.

Yeah on Play you have to go into their 'Adult' section and then manually scroll through their stuff until you find those two titles. If I bang my head any more against the brick wall that is that problem I'll only be left with a stump! :(

Future titles like the upcoming Dec releases seem to be available though through normal means on the Play site.

Well they're plonkers then. Searches for NYR and POD yielded results without problems.

Perhaps the nice old lady with a faceful of needles on the cover of Killer Nun upset them a bit. They'll pass out when they see Flavia then.

I think the Killer Nun cover upset everyone. Poor old dear - she wasn't really a whore...

I live in rural (!) Shropshire and they had Phantom of Death in my local HMV. Got Torso from the Merry Hill shopping centre in Dudley so they did reach the West Midlands ;)

According to Play, my 'Venus' and 'Cat' are in the post so should be receiving them this week.

Well I ordered Caddyshack well before Christmas from HMV.com - they had it in stock but took an age to send it out - got it in 2008 by which point I'd OD'd on Chevy Chase! :o

So has anyone got Black Cat and Venus in their slippery paws yet?

Flavia The Heretic is going to be an essential purchase. I for one never dreamed it would get through uncut. Especially as the BBFC are getting on their high horse again over the Manhunt 2 game. Let's hope Late Night Trains/Night Train Murders is equally successful.

The two Anthropophagous films would be an interesting future possibility for Shameless. The only one available here at the moment is the original film in its heavily cut form (The Grim Reaper) courtesy of Hollywood DVD.

Nipped into my local HMV today (03/01). Alas no VIF or TBC but they did have 2 new POD's and 1 new NYR! (Apologies for the acronyms) :)

Hmm - I'd better check these DVDs made the shops - 31st Dec release date can be problematic. If anyone has seen them about do let me know.

Well Cardiff should get a good quantity. I've had a word with the sales company and all orders were fulfilled in time to retail so they should be out there. Either they've somehow not been put out or they all sold out and the latter is frankly rather unlikely!

Maybe they pulled some 'play' style nonsense and popped them in the 'adult' section? *shudders*

Or the 'bin' section!
