Maybe we need to re-title this thread to 'Shameless Re-Releases Coming Soon'!

'The Nurse' (1979)' - Blu-Ray pre-order available from Amaozn UK - £19:80

Release date: February 26

"From the producers of ‘Doctor Zhivago’ comes a film that finally reveals URSULA ANDRESS in all her glory!

Voted the TOP BOND GIRL of all time, Ursula Andress made cinematic history when she emerged from the sea in that bikini. Not only was this iconic scene crowned "No1 of the 100 Greatest Sexy Screen-Moments” and earned Andress a Golden Globe, but it heralded a new generation of women who wanted and expected more: the 'sexual revolution' had started.

Ever wondered what she looks like without that bikini? Well, wonder no more and reach for The Nurse! Andress stars as The Sensuous Nurse, spending most of this romp-com undressed.

Screen legend Jack Palance (City Slickers) plays an American tycoon aiming to buy a vineyard in the beautiful Italian Veneto. But the hitch is that the aging owner won't sign, despite his madcap family's eagerness to sell and get rich.

The old man, recovering from a bonk-induced heart attack, is a randy lecher. So, the family's outrageous stratagem is to hire Nurse Andress, not to cure the old boy, but for her to... ahem... undress and, hopefully, induce another - this time fatal - cardiac arrest.

It's all barmy, fizzy fun, and the clincher? A SECOND Bond Girl! Luciana Paluzzi, the one in skin-tight black leathers on the rocket launching motorbike in 'Thunderball’. Here without leathers. Or anything."

Special features:
  • Complete and Uncut, restored from 2K scan
  • Interview with Director Nello Rossati and Set & Costume Designer on working with Bond lovelies
  • New English subtitles on the alternative Italian track

Seriously, I thought all they did these days was re-releases. The church and the sect I thought were their last real new releases.

A post on FB suggests that Shameless have given up on releasing new titles:

"With future announcements looming, we're eager to know which current Shameless releases you're hoping to see upgraded to Blu-Ray. In 2024, we've already treated fans to upgraded versions of THE FRIGHTENED WOMAN & THE NURSE. What do you predict is the next upgrade on the horizon?"

Most of us thought they'd given up years ago.

I posted:

"Here's a random suggestion - why not release NEW titles rather than re-releasing things you have already done !"

and they came back with:

"We’re sorry you’re not happy that we are upgrading our catalogue. If you have suggestions for new titles, let us know. I’ll pass your feedback onto the team."

if lot's of people suggests new films for them to releases then it might just stop them from re-releasing the films that arrow have released in the US like killer nun' what have they done to your daughters' or who saw her die and strip nude for your killer because we in the UK could do with arrow releasing them and it would let other labels release films like the Bronx warrior films or my dear killer or even the designated victim because other labels would do a better job in releasing them and give them the treatment they deserve to have.

Suggesting new films is a pointless exercise though as they'd have to buy new films in which i'm pretty sure they can't afford or they'd be doing it already.

Perfect example of why no new acquisitions should be suggested either. They’re already clinging onto enough great titles like a rabid dog and have failed to do them justice.

according to Amazon they are releasing footprints on the moon on Blu-Ray in April

Justin101 22nd March 2024 11:45 AM

Makes sense since I imported the Severin disc  It probably wont have 2 discs like that version though.

peter alex 22nd March 2024 12:39 PM

no it only as one disc cause its just the original Italian cut but it does have the same amount of special features.

The Shameless version misses the featurette about Nicoletta Elmi, and it has a different commentary track. Thats not enough for me to buy it again though :)

Mojo 25th March 2024 12:59 PM

It?s unfortunate that Shameless seem to issue Blu rays that another company has released an excellent edition of months before. FOOTPRINTS being an example. I already have the Severin release, but probably would have held off and bought the Shameless edition if I?d known it was forthcoming.
It?s a pity Shameless couldn?t upgrade to Blu Ray some of their titles that aren?t so available, such as FORMULA FOR A MURDER, THE WASHING MACHINE etc.

We know about the 'Footprints' re-release, but *this* appears to have slipped through the net

"NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS

We're delighted to announce the upcoming release of not one, but two, new releases from Shameless! This Easter, Shameless presents two new additions to your Blu-Ray collection: Luigi Bazzoni?s FOOTPRINTS ON THE MOON and Giulio Berruti?s KILLER NUN. Two distinctive thrillers that epitomise the essence of Italian genre cinema from the dynamic 1970s era.

Prepare to step into the mystery of lost memories in Luigi Bazzoni?s FOOTPRINTS ON THE MOON. Starring Florinda Bolkan and Klaus Kinski, this enigmatic Italian thriller follows Alice, a translator haunted by gaps in her memory as she ventures to a seaside town for answers. But as Alice delves deeper into the mystery, the boundary between reality and nightmare begins to blur.
Drawing inspiration from real events, the provocatively titled, KILLER NUN, features Swedish screen icon Anita Ekberg in the lead role. Portraying the titular Nun, Ekberg's character grapples with the dichotomy of her duties as a Sister tasked with healing the sick while battling personal demons of addiction. As the death toll mounts within the hospital walls, the nun's struggle with her inner turmoil leads her down a dark and sinister path.
FOOTPRINTS ON THE MOON and KILLER NUN are now available to order and ready for shipping exclusively from https://www.shameless-films.com in advance of their official release dates. Customers who order directly from us will receive exclusive low serial numbered editions for both titles, ensuring you don?t miss out on your chance to own these limited editions."

Killer Nun

"KILLER NUN [REGION-FREE, UNCUT, NEW RESTORED 1080P ENCODE ? LIMITED SERIAL-NUMBERED EDITION]

Dubbed ?The Sex Symbol of the silver screen?, Anita Ekberg, renowned for her iconic frolicking in the Trevi Fountain in Fellini?s ?La Dolce Vita,? delivers an amazingly unique barn-storming performance in ?THE KILLER NUN.? In an interview exclusive to this edition, Ekberg reveals her frustration with the ?bombshell? typecasting that followed, expressing a preference for working on films like ?Killer Nun? and she boldly declares, ?This is the kind of film I like!?

Originally banned as a Video Nasty, ?Killer Nun? is a true ?Nunsploitation? great, which uniquely crosses into the Giallo genre. Presented here uncut and pristinely restored from a 2K scan of the camera negative, this release finally does justice to the uninhibited and frenzied vision of its creator. With impressive high-style photography and vivid, deliciously surreal murders, it is superbly enhanced by the dreamy yet dystopian score of Alessandro Alessandroni (immortalised by his twangy guitar and his legendary whistling in Sergio Leone?s westerns). The music itself is a manic masterpiece.

Based on a true story, Ekberg?s captivating presence and tour-de-force performance portrays a nun who turns junkie and engages in robbery, possibly torture and murder of pensioners in a church-run Elderly Care Home ? all while luring young nuns with her sapphic desires! The Nun is abetted by a hunky doctor played by Andy Warhol?s superstar prot?g?, Joe D?Alessandro (also spelt Joe Dallesandro, he was lionised as ?Little Joe? in Lou Reed?s famed ?Walk On The Wild Side?).?

Special Features:
  • Unique Interview with Fellini?s Muse and iconic silver-screen Sex-Symbol, Anita Ekberg
  • Interview with director Giulio Berruti ?God is the Drug?
  • Audio commentary by UK Film-Critic and Genre-Expert Rachael Nisbet
  • English + separate alternative Original Audio version.
  • New Full 1080P 1.85:1 Widescreen Blu-ray Encode
  • The Director of Public Prosecution?s Video Nasty is now fully uncut and pristinely restored from 2K scanned original negative.

Whilst low serial numbers (up to No 250) are assured from this website only, no specific number within that range can be guaranteed."

peter alex 29th March 2024 09:43 AM

they are also re-release mountain of the cannibal god as well its supposed to be a new 2k remaster' but to me it's a complete waist of time because it's still going to be cut by 2 minutes.
