I was going to buy the Deadwood Blu-ray set in the Amazon flash sale, but was put off by all the one star reviews which all mentioned synchronisation issues and the set containing fewer extra features than the DVD one – not even the episode synopses were ported across – so I decided to save my money and stick with the DVD set.

Finished the first episode no problems but tried episode 4 of Season and yes the audio is out of sync in some places not Kung fu movie levels, it's Watchable enough and can see it bothering a lot of people. But was only £10 and it's not through the whole episode and with any luck it might only be this episode or a small handful of the rest, so I'll stick with it but if you already have the DVD and the audio being slightly out of sync would bother you I would not bother, shame as the picture is top notch.

I've forgotten how much they loved the word cocksucker in the town of deadwood

As long as you're reasonably happy, that's all that matters, and thanks for telling me about the issues so I can remove the Blu-ray set from my wish list.

It's been a long time, possibly 10 years, since I watched the series through from beginning to end, but it'll have to go to the back of the queue after Boardwalk Empire, The Wire, The Sopranos, The Man in the High Castle, Jessica Jones and the latest seasons of The Big Bang Theory, Fargo and The Walking Dead.

Today's deliveries:

Spartacus steelie from Zavvi £7.99 (I've never actually seen it, but given the praise it receives, I thought I'd go for it).

Stagefright £8.99 from Amazon.

...and my first two Region A purchases! Now let's see if that mod works...;)
