Thanks to those who submitted a list of their favourite films set on boats or ships.

The subject for this week is one I don't think which has been done before. If I'm wrong and it is a duplicate, I'll think of something else!

If you feel like it, you could sort by genre and have a different list for horror/thriller films, dramas, comedies etc.

Okay, here's the deal. My top eight are pretty much set in stone. The eight listed below them are all what i consider very enjoyable films but there position is highly interchangeable depending on how recent it's been since i last watched them. So basically any of the lower eight could fill places nine and ten depending.

And yes. I prefer Strip Nude for your Killer to Deep Red.

True it isn't a masterpiece but Joan Collins and Ralph Bates make it a decent chiller.

Indeed. I just looked through my online collection and realised I missed Strip Nude for Your Killer which I think you included in your 'concrete' list.

It's an incredibly sleazy and entertaining giallo which would be in the 'nearly made it' list.

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 16th June 2020 11:56 AM

I'm not going to do a top ten this week because I think this idea is best if it has a breather every so often. This means having a few months off which would hopefully allow for older topics to be reintroduced, probably giving you a few weeks' notice so you can watch films from around that topic and then make a list with greater ease than if you haven't seen those movies for many years.

I think another benefit to that approach would be 'research', reading online or buying a film to fit a topic, giving enough time for it to arrive and then watching it before the subject is announced so you can draw from a much larger sample size than if that topic is announced out of the blue.

This hiatus will probably run over the summer, hopefully allowing you all to enjoy some good weather rather than spending all that time inside making lists! It also gives me an opportunity to create some sort of database of topics which would make my life easier.

This thread will be kept open for a while before being removed and then a new one will be created for the 'grand reopening', so if you have any ideas or suggestions, please put them here.

To be honest, I have a problem with the way that this thread has been going

The title is 'Top Ten Tuesday', but it seems that more and more, people are posting their top ten... 'plus another 10 that *almost* made it' (yes, I myself have been guilty of posting more than the required ten titles in the past)

I would like it if people posted their top 10 titles *only* without going over the limit

Just my thoughts!

I know what you mean.

I don't think it harms to post a top ten then others that nearly made it. As long as there's a top ten. The rest might give folks ideas.

I only post the ones which merely made the list to give people an idea of what was under consideration and what was eligible for inclusion and which they may want to include on their top ten.

As long as there is a top ten list, preferably ranked, I don't see the harm in including the ones which missed out.
