The Blood Beast Terror
Apparently, when Peter Cushing first saw the script for this he remarked " It's not very good, is it? " He was right.
Still, Cushing makes any film worth watching, particularly when he is quite clearly trying hard to suppress a snigger during most of the movie.
Interestingly, the onscreen title on this UK DD release is the US moniker The Vampire Beast Craves Blood. Mind you, under any title it's still a load of old bollocks.
"They'll never believe this one at the Yard" :D

Human Experiments (1979)

Didn't realise this film was going to be so boring.

Prom Night (Remake)

Was never a fan of the original but I enjoyed this.
A lot of suspense. The murders were quite vicious as well with multiple stabbings, surprised it was rated PG 13. I suppose it was the lack of blood.

Wow, Cloud - and I thought I'd bought a lot!

The last week or so:

Amazon:
- Martyrs (Optimum) (Pre-order)
- The Night of the Werewolf (BCI)
- The Seventh Continent (Artificial Eye) (Pre-order)
- 71 Fragments of a Chronology of Chance (Artificial Eye) (Pre-order)

D&T Mailorder:
- Bloodstained Butterfly (Eyecatcher)
- Fascination (X-Rated Kult)
- Nightmare Beach (Eyecatcher)
- Spasmo (Eyecatcher)

eBay:
- 5 Dolls For an August Moon / Four Times That Night (Anchor Bay / Starz)
- Curse of the Devil (BCI)
- The Dracula Saga (BCI)
- Human Beasts (BCI)

HMV:
- Timecrimes (Optimum) (Pre-order)

Play.com
- Baba Yaga (Shameless :D ) (Pre-order)

... and that's about it. With the arrival of my BCI titles I will have got all of the Naschy Special Editions. I've also decided (very recently) to collect certain AWE releases (mainly the Zombie and Giallo series'). I had a few anyway, that I'd been buying over the last year or so (Torso, Zombie Flesh Eaters, Nothing Underneath, Zombie Holocaust, Puzzle...)

But recently I have purchased:

- The Beyond
- City of the Living Dead
- Cold Eyes of Fear
- Maniac
- The New York Ripper
- Nightmare City
- Stagefright
- Zombie Flesh Eaters 2

and with Deep Red, Bay of Blood, and Blue Sunshine lined up as future purchases, my AWE collection is becoming fairly impressive... even if it does involve a bit of double dipping (and with Deep Red - triple dipping!)

Yes I had the UK precert & it's virtually unwatchable.

Hello Mark, haven't heard from you in a while.

As a film that was caught up in the video nasty controversy it is certainly very tame as well.

vincenzo 15th April 2009 10:27 PM

I've still got the pre-cert somewhere. Dull as dishwater and undeserving of its status.

Have you ever seen I Miss You, Hugs & Kisses Angel?

Pete 16th April 2009 10:38 AM

I watched The Burning the other day and ireally liked it, and thats strange for me because i hate slasher films.

Still haven't seen that one Vince. Is it as bad as Human Experiments?

I have just got my dvd bargain of the year so far: Universal 8 disc Clint Eastwood box for £8 in CEX.
