Be interested to see your review of that TD......:p

TALL DUDE 18th June 2009 06:31 PM

Its..ahem..coming soon.:D

Watched nightmare in blood last night.Pretty cool 70's vampire pastiche with a real vampire as the special guest at a horror convention, with burke and hare as his sidekicks, supplying him with bodies.
Directed by john stanley(creature feature movie guide)the film has plenty of reference points to old horror films and is quite amusing at times.
Cheap as chips on amazon too,a couple of quid, plus postage.:)

Communion? Is that the VI release? Its a great film, well a superb film in fact, but heard that the VI dvd is really bad quality. If it is that version, i hope its not that bad as to ruin such an awesome film.

iluvdvds@Cult Labs 19th June 2009 10:26 AM

Cheers BE, I've heard some really good things about Mum & Dad - should be good.

Yep, that's the one Loops, VI DVDs are such bad quality - fingers crossed it wont ruin this film too much!

I'm no fan of the sequel, though the original is great.I watched FRIGHT NIGHT (1985) which still holds up well.

spooks 19th June 2009 01:14 PM

yep, i thought demons 2 was poo too. like the first one, good silly fun.

Angel 20th June 2009 08:02 AM

Laid to Rest

Run-of-the-mill slasher. Quite violent.

What did you think of it Angel? I thought it was pretty good until the end, where it just seemed to be over so quickly - a bit rushed IMO.

Gold6082 20th June 2009 09:08 AM

Laid to rest was very good, I have a copy spare for anyone who may require it, I just done the weekly post office run but I go again next sat.

The 3 leads were pretty good including Kevin Gage, even though I despised him in CHAOS, he was quite watchable here, and the film moves along at a speedy pace. But overall I still found it quite average, the ending as you mention was also a bit of a flop. The scene in the convenient store was probably the best part for me.

Make Them Die Slowly 21st June 2009 11:54 AM

Yeah, Scar gave me a bit of a headache too.

Plus I see we have another fan of Rossa Venezia! ;)

I received a nice parcel from Movie Mars the other day which contained:

- The Beyond: Grindhouse Release
- Black Magic: Shaw Bros.
- Blue Sunshine: Synapse Limited Special Edition
- Cat in the Brain: Grindhouse Release

and I also got MYA's Legend of Blood Castle from HKFlix... and I have to admit to watching all of these over the past couple of days! :o:D

I love "Blue Sunshine",very underrated in my humble opinion.

bizarre_eye@Cult Labs 21st June 2009 03:27 PM

I'd been meaning to get Blue Sunshine for a while now, but was undecided on which version to get between the AWE vs. Synapse releases... I chose the Synapse in the end due to the bonus disc of the Soundtrack  - even though the AWE version would certainly have had a better print of the film.

Gold6082 23rd June 2009 03:58 AM

I am going to recommend to you

Sleepaway Camp IV (Yes I have now got it and seen it), surprisingly very good, very funny and not as serious as the first 3 but equally as enjoyable with a nice end twist.

The Unborn

Released yesterday, You can do alot worse for a modern film very enjoyable and creepy.

My Bloody Valentine (Remake)

As far as remakes go (Which usually always go tits up), this is actually a surprisingly good effort and very enjoyable.

recent views I will recommend AVOIDING

Death By Engagement

What starts off fairly promising doesn't take long to turn into a bore!

Dead Silence

Crappy Chucky rip off with vinnie from Home and away being more of a pain in the arse than he was winding up Alf stewart 9 years back!!

Peter Neal 23rd June 2009 09:30 AM

"Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Season 1":
I bought this as a bargain, yet still in doubt...and was very, very pleasantly surprised! Great show, looking forward to season 2!:popcorn:

Pete 23rd June 2009 09:35 AM

I watched The Crying Game for the first time last night and thought it was excellent. Unfortunately the 'shock' scene didn't shock me because i already knew beforehand.

The 3rd Naked Gun film spoofs this scene brilliantly. :D

Pete 23rd June 2009 10:43 AM

Yes, that is funny.

vincenzo 23rd June 2009 10:52 AM

"What are you doing?"
"I was just conjugating my next move"
"Your bishop's exposed"
"It's these pants".

Pete 23rd June 2009 10:55 AM

From part 2 1/3

Goes into sex shop:

Woman at counter: Is this a bust?

Frank: Yes, they're very impressive!

vincenzo 23rd June 2009 11:02 AM

"I'm sure that we can handle this situation maturely, just like the responsible adults that we are. Isn't that right? - MR POOPY PANTS!!" :D

Gold6082 24th June 2009 09:33 AM

Picked a few Bargains up in HMV & Cex this morning

Hammer House Of Horrors Boxset £12 being the best bargain

iluvdvds@Cult Labs 24th June 2009 12:28 PM

Great bargain finding skills there, Gold! :woot:

I watched Mum And Dad last night - and thought it was pretty damn rubbish! Nice concept though.
