Treb, you need a new thread. This is what HAVE you seen? not what are you going to watch. :pop2: |
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9M3rjn0qes It's basically Bela playing Dracula again in all put name, hear he is Armand Tesla who is dispatched in 1888, 23 years later his coffin is unearthed by a German bomb and is brought back to life when some grave diggers remove the stake and bury the body, he soon sets about seeking revenge with the help of his werewolf lackey. I'm going to be in the minority by saying enjoyed this more than Dracula. 7.5/10 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSle6NJY01U Vincent Price plays a mad scientist who builds super humans from body parts of people he kidnaps. We have a sub story of the police investigating killing of young woman by which is connected to the doctors experiments , another sub plot of a some unmentioned eastern Europe country . There is a small but important role for Christopher Lee and a even smaller role for Peter Cushing which is hardly more than a cameo. I really liked the character of the lead detective. 7.5/10 |
Can't Hardly Wait. With graduation over and just one last big blowout high school party left to go, Preston (Ethan Embry) has just a few hours left to tell the girl of his dreams (Jennifer Love Hewitt) how he feels about her. I hadn't seen this late 90s teen comedy for about 14 years despite having it on DVD, but just upgraded it to a Blu ray and actually thoroughly enjoyed it last night. I must admit I like it more than the American Pie's, probably because the humour is a lot less of the cringe/grossout variety (which seems to be all modern comedies consist of these days). There's a great ensemble and almost a who's who of late 90s young Hollywood, and Seth Green all but steals the show with his laughable wannabe gangster talk. It looks lovely on Blu too, so glad I upgraded. :) |
1 Attachment(s) King Kong (1976) To say this film was made in the mid seventies it looks ridiculously old fashioned and has dated far more than the stop motion classic from 1933. It doesn't help that this version of Kong was at L.A.'s Universal Studios on the back lot tour in all it's subway train derailing glory, although seeing that scene in the film was actually the best thing about this version. It also really doesn't help that Kong is just a fella in a monkey suit and the main SFX is merely a large animatronic hand that Jessica Lange has to push herself into each and every time it appears on screen. In short this film is a bit rubbish. |
I think I put this in the wrong thread! |
