It's kind of nice Ridley Scott is involved, I guess, but it's not like he's done much of any worth since the early 90s, so I wouldn't hold out much hope for an Alien quality experience.

Russell Crowe will want a word:lol::lol:

Russell Crowe needs a word with himself, the film-ruining, scenery-chewing, face-mugging liability! Romper Stomper was a looooooooong time ago!

1) No-one knows yet. some images have been released that suggest that the movie is set within the same "universe" as Alien, but then so was Outland.

2) Scott hasn't "done much of any worth since the early 90s"? You really think so?
As Director alone, movies that stand out for me were Gladiator, Hannibal, Black Hawk Down, the Director's Cut of Kingdom of Heaven (not the shallow theatrical cut), and Body of Lies. I even liked Robin Hood despite the butchering of history, it stil worked as entertainment, I thought.

Each to their own, and all that.

Yes. I really do. His last good film that I have seen was Thelma And Louise. I have heard good things about White Squall and American Gangster though, so maybe I'll give them a chance one day.

Its based on the explorers who visited the planet many years before - the Space Jockey. Many rumours that they brought the aliens there to destroy the civilisation previous.

Other rumours involve the space jockeys harvesting humans, and experimenting with alien dna.

I read this in Febs Empire mag this morning if your interested as to where the info came from.

Pic of the Space Jockey as a refresher.-

Yeah its meant to be based in the Alien universe and on set reports have said they were aliens there so while its not a direct prequel, it is gonna be featuring some type of aliens.

Im really excited about it mainly cos of the space jockey as we gonna see them alive!
the sets are meant to be HUGE and its mainly gonna be practical effects. Plus Geiger is involved so the sets will be awesome.

What films have you seen recently?

For a supposed $250m budget it should be good......but of course there was AVATAR and that was crap
I think Scott's film will be better though

I quite like Alien Res until the end, because it looked shit. I'm a big Jean-Pierre Jeunet fan though, so that definitely helped.

I like all the 4 original ALIEN films especially Jeunet's ALIEN RESURRECTION, underrated
some scenes were directed by Pitof who made my fave French film VIDOCQ
