I have absolutely no idea how I forgot to mention Rob Reiner's finest films and two of my own personal favourites: The Princess Bride and This Is Spinal Tap. Shame on me!

I'm a big fan of Beat Street and Crush Groove. Two films that need to be played loud!

A couple of my favourite comedies from the 80's. Let It Ride, starring Richard Dreyfuss, and Flashback, starring Keifer Sutherland and Dennis Hopper (this one was actually released in Feb '90, but it's set in 1989, so it's as good as an 80's film). I'd recommend Let It Ride to everyone. It's definately one of my favourite comedies.
