Only person here?? Balls my good man. The first film is superb and one of the crown jewels of Marvel Studios output.

I might be mistaken, but I'm under the impression that Guardians of the Galaxy is almost universally loved here, with perhaps only one or two members disliking it.

I hope you love it. GotG is unlike most of the other MCU films because it has a very contemporary soundtrack, is heavily reliant on comedy, and is largely set in outer space! I know Iron Man (and the sequels) have songs from the likes of AC/DC, but not to the extent of Awesome Mix Vol. 1, which provides the music for GotG.

Completely agree. I am really looking forward to the second movie and the second Awesome Mix.

Speaking of movie soundtracks. And slightly off topic, however. I was on Wiki looking at Suicide Squad and though tit's soundtrack sounded awesome with a mixture of modern rap and classic rock.

Only to get on Amazon to buy the thing when i noticed it was all rap / r n'b and not all from the film but inspired by the film. Just one rock song on the disc.

I also noticed many were up in arms about this and quite rightly. Are classic rock songs so expensive to put on a compilation even though they are clearly in the film itself? Or are record company execs just so dumb they think everyone just wants to hear generic r n'b constantly?

Suffice to say they didn't get a sale from me.

Demdike@Cult Labs 6th December 2016 11:13 AM

If you like the films then i think this teaser for the 8th film is worth watching. Although the actual trailer is premiered December 11th.

It's my favourite Marvel film to date. Think i've seen it 4 times already. Nearly watched it again the other day but decided i better not wear out its welcome!

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 8th December 2016 01:12 PM

This could either be quite good fun or it could be absolutely terrible.

Full trailer coming Sunday for Fast 8, now called The Fate of the Furious (but like a Fast Five and Furious 7, they'll probably just call it Fast & Furious 8 outside of America.

Probably due in no small part to Marvel being more in control now. Really loving the "you're not the real Avengers" sequence in the trailer.

While this does look awesome I have to say I like all of the previous Spiderman films, including the admittedly dodgy Spiderman 3.

Potentially a good thing...

...although we still remember Catwoman and Elektra. :xmashumbug:

I quite liked some of the ideas in Elektra...

The "ideas" part was not really an issue – it was more the woeful dialogue and execution which damned the film.

I think it's just the character. Elektra was awful. She was also the weakest link in the otherwise underrated Affleck version of Daredevil and she is the worst thing about the fantastic Netflix show too.

Looks like Lucas Black will definitely have a bigger role in The Fate Of The Furious. Good news for fans like me.

I dunno.... Spidy 3 was a mess but AS2 wasn't even a film, just a bunch of scenes designed to turn spidy into his own extended universe. Also Electro was rubbish, at least the sandman was fairly faithful to the comics.

nosferatu42 17th December 2016 01:50 AM

I like Spiderman 3 in general, the only part that annoyed me was the fact they changed his uncle Bens(?) death and blamed it on sandman, thought they didn't need to go over that shit again.
I even enjoyed the dance routine.:xmasnuts:

Amazing Spiderman 2 i only managed to get halfway through and thought it was terrible, still haven't had the urge to finish it and that was about a year ago.:xmastongue:

Spiderman 3 has more problems than you could shake a stick at. The FX I thought were exceptional but everything else was a mess.

It's definitely a lose-lose case as the film would have no target audience and probably be a critical and commercial flop.

I wasnt overly keen on it. A tadge let down, It had its moments and was well made and atmospheric, whats wrong with leaving a film alone, thats the problem these days everything needs to be rebooted, sequels or remade,
