I like them all. They might be more to your liking GM, seeing as they feature the mummy quite a lot, shambling about killing folk.

My fave being The Mummy's Hand. It has quite a bit of humour in it but not like anything Abbott and Costello used.

House of Wax.

Had the dvd for years. First viewing, certainly not the last. Vincent Price is brilliant as ever, and this film is also a perfect (if early) example of a 3D film that is in no way dependant on the 3D format in order to work. Unlike a few modern examples.

The Final Destination.

At a race track, Nick has a premonition that there will be a crash, as he and his friends rush out it happens, soon the survivors start dying in accidents.

In this 4th installment this was lame, the premonition sequence was filmed well and the way people are killed are really good but the set up for the survivors is naff there was only one build up to a death and that was the MILF mother's, there is like a duplicate death taken from the first movie. There is your usual blood and guts, even filming it in 3D didn't save it and the acting was laughable.

This one is the shortest in running time which seemed like everything was rushed to get it over and done with, the opening credits showss the deaths from the previous films in X-ray vision which was good. 4-5 out of 10.

Final Destination 5.

On their way to a working weekend retreat, Sam has a vision that the bridge they will cross that's under construction will collapse, the survivors known as the lucky 8 will no longer be lucky.

Steven Quale was given the task to direct this installment and
manages to pull it back from the crap road that the previous two movies went down.

The premonition shot was far more exciting, a few unexpected moments with a blend of holy sh:t and a blend of 3D, but you can still enjoy it in 2D.

The deaths were created brilliantly with a good cringe worthy that was built up with good suspense that was filmed like the first two movies. What caught me off guard the first time watching it was the ending that deserved a big holy F@#k as I didn't see that coming nor did the guy in the pub. Check it out. 9 out of 10.

My mistake, I have so many comms with Alan and Kim I just assumed!

I would think it were the other way round. Alan Jones only did comms with Newman on the Argento and one or two other Italian titles. Stephen Jones is his regular comm partner.

I'm not some Newman know it all. I visit this page occasionally as it sometimes offers sneak peeks of discs not yet announced.
