At least the Vipco is the complete print. I used to have the old CBS video which featured a U.S print, and the final shot in that scene was a messy (and almost unintelligible) still image. The shot of Terry Thomas being 'hammered' by Glynis Johns was also a freeze frame. :ack:

Yeah the Midnight Movies double feature disc contains the censored version of Vault as well. Those still frames don't to the film any favours at all. :mmph:

Yep,for once a Vipco disc triumphs!

I don't own Vault on disc, but have seen the BFI restored print that regularly crops up on Film4 & Channel 4.Why can't someone just release that version onto DVD?

When i was a kid the first story of Asylum were Richard Todd chops up his wife and her body parts start moving on their own really creeped me out.

Vampix 5th January 2010 12:29 PM

The thought of Peter Cushing's character keeping his son's decaying corpse in a coffin in his house creeped me out when I watched Asylum for the first time. That, and the scene where Robert Powell crushes Herbert Lom's mechanical doll underfoot and you see the little fella's intestines oozing out, urgh! :ack: :D

The only Amicus anthology that was below par was TORTURE GARDEN....

I enjoyed it - even if it was a bit downbeat. Children was ok - just took a while to get going.
