I also got The Evil of Frankenstein, The Horror of Frankenstein, The Brides of Draculula., maybe a few more Brit Horror , but not that much really.
My favourite Brit Horror that I own is Inseminoid.

Just watched BLOOD ON SATAN'S CLAW for the first time without zooming through certain bits.
It's a solid enough British chiller, and must have seemed quite brutal when first released, but IMHO,it falls in line behind other Brit classics such as,THE WICKER MAN,WITCHFINDER GENERAL,THEATER OF BLOOD,DON'T LOOK NOW and THE DEVILS.

I enjoyed Blood On Satan's Claw (filmed in the gloriously named Bix Bottom incidentally) though I agree it's dated a bit today.

Don't get me wrong Vince,as I say,one of the better British efforts.
I just thought it was a tad slow.

It is a bit talky at times alas. Linda Hayden, Michele Dotrice & Wendy Padbury make things worthwhile however.

Absolutely.

I adore almost every second of "Satan's Claw". Just the atmosphere and music alone give me chills 'n' thrills. And it's still one of the most disturbing and strong British horror films thanks to that superbly crafted rape/murder shock sequence with the leering old couple and the equally leering young children.

And Linda is just...wow. "Wan' come play our games Sir"?

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 28th January 2010 09:04 PM

Yeah the music was rather creepy....

I got the ABUK single disc release of Blood on Satan's Claw, I've heard the recent Odeon Entertainment re-release offers a better transfer of the film but none of the AB extras.I may well have to double dip on this as I like the film a lot and the Odeon DVD features some nice Graham Humphreys front cover artwork.
