:thankingyou:
Mine is on the way from Amazon Italy!:woot:

RE: Jones' announcement - Doesn't Severin have Five Days of Milan? That's got to be one. Inferno and Opera would be nice.

That Italian Dark Glasses Blu-ray is a pleasing release - I purchased it in hope of it having English subs and was rewarded. Also bought the Italian 4K House of Gucci as it's only been released on UHD in Italy and Sweden.

Black Glasses

Yes, it's a world away from Dracula. But it was all a tad pedestrian imho. At no point did I think that DA was behind the camera. Whether this is all post Northman "ptsd" remains to be seen. I always try and watch films at least twice to make sure (initially) so hold that thought ahem.

I actually think the first and last deaths very much remind you that this is a Dario Argento film. :) btw I love the opening eclipse sequence.

They reminded me more of torture porn. Shrug.

The Dark Glasses opening murder is definitely savage but imo no more violent than say, the opening murders in either Suspiria or Sleepless. Only time I've personally equated the torture porn term with Dario Argento is with parts of 2009's terrible Giallo film. Certainly not trying to start an argument, apologies if it seems that way, I just felt like posting my honest thoughts. :)

Eyeryone's entitled to their opinion.SF.:)

I watched my Dark Glasses bd last night and have to say, after Dario's recent output,I thoroughly enjoyed it!

I didn't think of it as 'Torture Porn' either,it was more of an 'Argento's greatest kills' tribute compilation....

How about releasing it in the UK as 'The Case of the White Van Man'?

I'm glad. I've recently been reading a dozen or so folks in an Argento facebook group complaining about it, one person even stated that Dracula was better (seriously WTF?). I really liked the movie. My only serious criticism is that I am still a bit underwhelmed by the soundtrack but in the case of this film (which strongly concentrates on the blind woman and child performances), it may well have been more fitting to have more of a background type music experience rather than something much more prominent. Easily the best Argento since The Card Player imo. If this was to be Dario's last film, I would feel that he left it on a good note.

Dracula?

I actually managed to sit through this last night.

It was passable until the huge grasshopper appeared! WHAT THE ****? :pound:

The cgi blood effects etc were also terrible.

French bd of GIALLO tonight....:behindsofa:

Also,Argento's taste in leading ladies has always been impeccable,Ms Pastorelli is beautiful.
