The so called 'lost' episode of the Metal Evolution TV program. I loved this when it was on, and i did wonder where the Extreme Metal episode was, but then just thought maybe the producers didn't think it'd be right for TV.

That being said, i believe Banger did a crowd-sourcing fundraiser to produce the episode and here it is! I enjoyed it personally :)

I managed to catch Death at the Glasgow Barrowlands on their Human tour. It's still one of my top 5 live gigs ever. RIP Chuck.

It's so ingrained into the psyche that Black Metal is a man's game that I feel almost misogynistic to say that I surprised that a woman could make something as credible as Myrkur. Her new album M is out today and it's incredible, in fact I'm going to put it on again, it's on spotify for those who use that sort of thing!

This is off her mini album from last year, the new album is a bit more polished, but since it was produced by Garm you wouldn't expect anything for A+ production!

It is possibly the only genre of music that has no erotic outlet in it. No wonder they were burning down churches...all that pent up Tolkien inspired frustration has to go somewhere.

Tolkien is another thing that has no erotic outlet either. Certainly not in my eyes anyway.

Having said that the Hobbits do seem quite fond of each other.

That's pretty bad news, but Bruce beat cancer and Nergal beat leukaemia so fingers crossed, I'm sure that Satyr is a fighter!

He seems pretty upbeat about it which is great.

In December 1995 Xasthur was formed by Malefic. After numerous members coming and going Malefic decided that he and Xasthur would be stand a better chance he he took total control and Xasthur became a one man project. Between 1995 and 2010 when Malefic decided to end Xasthur he had released eight full length albums eight splits with the likes of Nortt , Leviathan , Nachtmystium and Striborg. Xasthur plays a very dark , grim and raw Depressive Black Metal and like its subject matter it is filled with despair and anguish it can also be quite beautiful at times.

I used to go and see these quite a bit before they discovered flour and The Sisters of Mercy. They were just another home town band.

It's not flour. It's desert dust. ;)

Girl sings death metal on France's Got Talent...and gets through.

Our crap lot would just freak because it's not Rn'B.

Without wanting this to sound sexist. Any band that gives her a shot would immediately become newsworthy and sell more tickets to gigs.
