An Hour Before It's Dark: Live in Port Zelande 2023 (out on June 21st)

Really good that. I don't have An Hour Before it's Dark. I've also never listened to F.E.A.R. despite owning it for years.

I'll rectify that this Friday evening. It can be my album of the week.

Justin101 20th March 2024 11:24 PM

F.E.A.R. Is amazing it is was probably my album of the year when it came out! I haven?t bought the latest one myself yet though.

Settled down to listen to it. The room was right, the mood was right but i turned it off after the four songs that comprised El Dorado.

Tuneless, slow paced, dreary and hookless. Not a chorus in sight.

Going to try something else instead.

I will. I simply wasn't in the mood. I ended up listening to this for the first time which was a much more enjoyable experience.

I've only owned it five years.

F.E.A.R. came out 7 years ago now  the lyrics are pretty depressing though, it's all about the fall of society!

I didn't know that Dido was still putting albums out to be honest!

I didn't buy F.E.A.R. until 2019 when it was ?2.99 in a HMV Christmas sale.

That from 2019 is her only album since 2013.

Cups (When I'm Gone)

I love this song and don't mind it giving me an earworm!

I've watched several different versions a few times, plus others that I'm not going to post in this message, but they include Anna Kendrick performing it on David Letterman and the previous versions by The Carter Family and Lula and the Lampshades.

Great selection, Dem. Going from Behemoth to Frank Sinatra is quite a musical journey, as is going from Dido to N.W.A and on to Type O Negative. It's an eclectic playlist

This is probably my favourite song from the first album I listened to today:

System of a Down: Toxicity (2001)

Demdike@Cult Labs 2nd April 2024 09:35 PM

Aerials has always been my favourite System of a Down song.

I was delighted it was part of the set the one time i saw them live.

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 3rd April 2024 08:39 AM

My favourite song from today's first album is one that has changed since Taylor Hawkins' sad death, but it's still a great performance of a superb song, and I love it because it brought him and millions of others so much joy.

Headless Cross (1989) New remaster (2024)

Despite the genius of the Ozzy and Dio years this is one of my top five Black Sabbath songs of all time. It may not be doom laden but it is a great example of classic metal. And Tony Martin? What a voice!

I hope the new release is worth buying.

Liam Gallagher John Squire (2024)

Listened to a few off this album the last couple of days and i really like it. Always liked Squire's guitar sound on Second Coming and with The Sea Horses as well as his solo album Time Changes Everything.
