Europe are actually a very good blues influenced hard rock band. I bet you'd quite like them, Rik.

They certainly surprised me when I saw them circa 1986

I went along expecting a 'fluffy-poodle-teen-girl-pin-up-band' and was blown away at just how heavy they were!

BBC Red Button currently has a Deep Purple 'Radio 2 In Concert' running at various time throughout the day

It's appears to be mainly on a loop, playing for up to 6 hours at a time, which I would imagine is just the show repeated time after time!

It seems it is there until either Wednesday (22nd) or Thursday (23rd) next week, when it is replaced by a 'Tears For Fears' show!

I have noticed that there is a real North/South divide with these dates

14 different venues over (at time of writing) 100+ shows and with the exception of the London ones, they are all in the Midlands or above
