Two ok albums with one or two killer tracks between them, the rest being average filler that wouldn't have made it on to an album during the eighties.
Priest -
Jugulator
Bullet Train
Machine Man
Maiden -
Sign of the Cross
The Clansman
Futurereal.
Thankfully Maiden came back strongly and seem to be bigger than ever. With Priest its yet again "what might have been". | Never been much of a Priest fan I have to say and ended up bailing on their set at Wacken last year to see Hayseed dixie instead....who did an ace cover of Breaking the Law at the same time Priest where playing it on the main stage :)
I liked X Factor as an album. Very dark in tone which suited Blaze. I thought
Virtual XI was diabolical though. The synth horns and Hammond at the start of Angel and the Gambler was the lowest point of Maidens musical history for me. Clansman was good but amazingly cheesy and, yeah, Futureral is highly decent as well. |
