The Spaniards like their blu ray artwork.
I've bought quite a few now,and unlike French editions,I've never came across forced subs.

Anyone else import from Spain?

Also;A lot of the titles here that are available from over the pond are region locked,so may provide those who don't have multi region playback an alternative.
Most of them are under ten Euros as well.

Paul@TheOverlook 24th August 2015 10:24 PM

I've a fair few Spanish DVDs - a lot of titles that have only come out as Archive releases in the U.S. have had proper DVD releases there.

I do have ORCA though.

bdc 24th August 2015 10:34 PM

Beware that some Spanish blu's are actually bd-rom and boots.
Pic quality can also leave a lot to be desired with these boot releases.
Check the comments on Amazon Spain as many buyers will leave a message if it's a bd-rom. ;)

Spanish company "Resen" is notorious for releasing these (there are a few exceptions in their catalog that are not bd-rom though)

keirarts 25th August 2015 06:52 AM

How does the spanish blu of Curse of the demon hold up to the french one?

bdc 25th August 2015 04:17 PM

According to the comments it's a bd-r (Resen).

Looks fine to me mate.

The French Ed has forced subtitles according to the review on that page.

Nordicdusk 28th August 2015 06:47 AM

This thread popped up at the right time I found a great place last night with a great blu ray horror section. Now that I know about no forced subs I will be going back for a few. Cheers Reaps and bdc for your indirect help and advice when buying these.

A PRAYER FOR THE DYING with cracking artwork in December!

A few good titles for those who aren't multi region blu and can't have the Scream Factory releases.

Also,an interesting variation on the Wolfen artwork.....Thai poster art I believe.

Almost guaranteed every one is a BD-R, but dammit, I need that Teen Wolf blu!

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 6th October 2016 04:57 PM

Haha knew you would!

Don't believe all the shite on Amazon.es mate.
I've bought quite a bit and a lot of them aren't BDR's!

However, that Teen Wolf original art is class!

Not just on Amazon. Unless it's a company, it's pot luck on whether or not it's legit. Spain's worse than China for them.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 6th October 2016 07:38 PM

Most of the titles I've bought are released by the same company (whose name escapes me at the moment) and are 'proper' discs.
Yeah, but I've a few which have those 'bluish' bdr discs......

That PATRICK artwork is a must as well.

Boo Radley 19th October 2016 10:25 AM

Anyone have any info on the Spain release of The Hidden?
https://www.amazon.es/Hidden-Lo-ocul...hidden+blu+ray

love this movie but don't really want a BD-R.

EDIT; Anyone? Any info?

Well I bought it because a very wise chap reminded me that other companies put out BD-R's and no one complains about them. It looks to me as a legit release, not that I'm an expert in counterfeit discs but it's shiny silver, not blue and doesn't look cheap and nasty. Also has a reversible cover. I'm happy with it but haven't watched it yet to talk about pic quality. Just in case anyone was interested....

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 11th November 2016 03:53 PM

Good stuff mate.
I may order it myself......what's the reverse cover like?

Cool! I like them both. The original theatrical poster (with the screaming face) and the original spanish vhs cover. [emoji106]

Unlesss this is one of those infamous Spanish blu's, i'll never give anyone more money for The Warriors until the theatrical cut is released on blu. The director's cut is an abomination. I'll let you buy this mate and let is know which version is on this.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 15th November 2016 04:40 PM

Not buying it mate.
Yeah the DC IS an abombination, and unfortunately that's what's on it.

I'll be buying the Zavvi steely.

So you're just buying the Zavvi one because it's a steelbook? [emoji33]

Nope,for that ICONIC artwork.

Fright Night 2.......bootleg. The dumb****s ripped the German blu, which was faulty and only jad a mono soundtrack.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 28th November 2016 06:42 PM

Yeah both Fright Night discs have that 'bluish' tinge to them....:crying:
