Code Red

Some of the last releases of Code Red are pretty hard to get hold of.
And now it seems they are having problems financially.
I would suggest to get the Code Red dvd's you like to have...
Why?
-It could save or help the company.
-They could be oop soon and going for megabucks.

NossB 6th September 2009 07:36 PM

I've got most of Code Red's release, even the pre-BCI releases which already go for silly money.

The collapse of BCI hit them hard, to the point that they've never really recovered.

Paul 6th September 2009 07:36 PM

I know the distributor they were using went bust a while ago, but they seem to be using another now. They still seem to be quite active.

They also got screwed over on the release of Barn Of The Naked Dead. They put together a bell and whistles release, only to be beaten to the punch by a VHS quality Jonny Legend bootleg. They lost a load of money on that one.

bdc 6th September 2009 07:45 PM

I hope they are ok but I posted this because I read something about Code Red on another forum.

"I thoroughly suggest seeking out some of Code Red's other dvd's to support them (if you've been thinking about it.) I hear they are going through tough times right now."

This came from someone who was working on subs for an extra on a future release.

NossB 6th September 2009 07:49 PM

They've been sitting on NIGHTMARE for what seems a lifetime, they need to release that ASAP.

bdc 6th September 2009 07:52 PM

Seems the extra he was working on was for that release.

It's the one fans have been waiting for.

If people are looking for a first Code Red title to buy, Sole Survivor is the one to go for.

Paul 6th September 2009 08:42 PM

I have Sole Survivor, The Unseen, Don't go in the Woods, The Dead Pit and Beyond the Door and they're all excellent quality releases.

NossB 6th September 2009 09:49 PM

Even though the film is terrible, Doom Asylum is a well packaged DVD.

TALL DUDE 7th September 2009 07:35 PM

Final exam was selling on amazon marketplace last week for roughly seven quid. Its now shot up to sixty quid.Wtf???

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 7th September 2009 10:18 PM

I've had my WEEKEND MURDERS cancelled.Take it it's been put back?

Where did you order it from?

Because according to this, some people have it:

bdc 8th September 2009 07:10 AM

I had Weekend Murders on pre-order and still haven't had it shipped...it's a disaster.
I just cancelled my order and got one on eBay.com,supermartusa seems to be the best buy on there.

Final Exam is not a Code Red release btw.

UPDATE DVD Pacific has it in stock again and seems to be about the only web shop who's getting all the new Code Red releases stocked.

"I hope the indie distributors will see all this running around hunting for DVDs as a sign that there's still a market for these types of movies and will keep cranking them out. I really want Code Red and the others to survive - I'm glad The Strangeness is doing well."

"From what it looks like The Strangeness and Stunt Rock are selling very well, and I also hope they put out more. It seems these two are giving them a new breath of fresh air."

Some people have got them.

I've had The Weekend Murders, The Strangeness and Trapped from DVDPacific. I suggest ordering from them.

bdc 8th September 2009 07:48 AM

Thanks for the tip,
DVD Pacific really seem to be the best choice for getting these.

Yeah, it's one of those top notch BCI releases the company put out a few weeks before closure.

TALL DUDE 8th September 2009 03:06 PM

Oh right. My bad.:o

NossB 8th September 2009 03:18 PM

On the subject of BCI, how many people here are kicking themselves for not buying Savage Streets cheap?

bdc 8th September 2009 03:26 PM

I kick myself everyday for that...
I even almost ordered it at some point before it went oop.

Before BCI went belly up, it was on Amazon market place for £5. I thought I'd wait for the price to drop as most BCI titles went for around £3 at the time. Now you're lucky to find it for £30.

bdc 24th September 2009 07:47 AM

It finally arrived today! :)

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 24th September 2009 07:48 PM

TRAPPED really is an excellent little nasty Redneck film.Has anyone else bought it yet?
Anyone bought their SOLE SURVIVOR?

bizarre_eye@Cult Labs 24th September 2009 10:18 PM

I only have Weekend Murders from them so far.

Beyond the Door, The Dead Pit, Sweet Sixteen, and Trapped are all on my wish list though!

Also I am looking forward to their release of Messiah of Evil. :woot:

bdc 25th September 2009 09:04 AM

Received all these Code Red's this week:
Girls In Chains
Sole Survivor
Terror Circus
Weekend Murders

Watched Weekend Murders last night, really fun giallo.
The dvd was good as well.

I watched Beyond The Door recently, always been a favorite here.
The dvd is good but the picture is a bit soft.
Well worth it for the extra's though.

I also have
Devil Times Five
Love Me Deadly
But still have to watch them.
I've seen the movies before and like them.

I just will have to get Messiah Of Evil!

Got trapped a couple of weeks back and watched it that night.
Not quite as good as i remember it being, but still pretty damn impressive, and silva makes a suitably nasty baddie.
Pq was a bit ropy though and a lot of background hiss, but, its good to see this surfacing again after all these years.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 7th October 2009 10:32 PM

Silva was terrific.A right nasty bastard he was.
