My Collection Shameless plug! I’m running a series of interviews with collectors over on my Blog – the first one went live today. Not sure it’s something everyone will dig but if you’re someone who gets a little nostalgic about the days of collecting VHS or even if you’re too young to have been involved in video collecting back in the day and would like to know more, check it out. I’ll post the links to new interview here as they go up. My Collection |
Just spent the last forty minutes perusing this excellent site and now i'm running late. |
Thanks for the kind words, I'm sorry I distracted you though, mate! |
Is Colin a member on here, if not it sounds like he should be |
I'm not sure. He was on some forums 8-9 years ago but he doesn't seem to be around anymore, at least not under the username he used to go by. You'd be surprised how many collectors are online but do not frequent forums. |
Paul, you and Colin both seem to regard the NoShame dvd's has highly prized. Just off the top of your head, how many were there? The only ones i own are The Case of the Scorpions Tale The Luciano Ercoli Death Box Set Dark Waters Amulet Box Set The Last Round The Sensuous Nurse The Emilio Miraglia Killer Queen Box Set |
I think there were about 40 or so. There were also several Italian releases (though no-one cares about them since most weren't English friendly) I only had a few: A MAN CALLED MAGNUM LAST ROUND BIG ALLIGATOR RIVER (had this twice) DARK WATERS (regular edition) EMILIO MIRAGLIA KILLER QUEEN SET |
Brilliant interview Paul! A great read  I'm with Dem too - that's one awesome blog you've got there! *Bookmarked* |
Great site btw, Paul! :) |
Thanks guys, really sweet of you to say. There were a lot of NoShame titles, Demdike. Things I can think of off the top of my head that haven't been mentioned: Secrets of a Call Girl Devil in the Flesh Most Beautiful Wife Convoy Busters Colt .38 Special Squad ...and a couple of sex comedies starring Edwige Fenech :) There's probably a release archive on the www.lovelockandload.com forum ;) |
I have a few others, but only in the sense that Mya released the NoShame print sans extras. |
A great read Paul. :thumb: Here are all the NoShame US releases at dvdaf: DVD Aficionado NoShame US Here's some of the Italian NoShame dvd's: http://www.dvdaf.com/search.html?pub...noshame*rgn_eu |
Thanks Bruno, and thanks for linking those lists too. |
Nice blog Paul, when will you be interviewing yourself about the "Reaper Bundle Collection"?:) |

I only did one on myself so that I had something to show those I who was interviewing. I could have gone in to a lot of detail but it would have been very long and I don't think it would have been a leisurely read! :D |
Yep, excellent blog, just discovered it now. Will be checking it out this morning... |
Cheers, Wes. |
|
Oh ****! |
Just as well there were no pics of the collection Reaps, most of them would already be gone, only to be replaced by a new batch that would soon be gone themselves. : D |
Another cracking interview, nice to see Henry the Hoover get a mention ha ha |

I'm loving these interviews, keep em coming! |
Cheers! I'm enjoying reading them too - some of the little tales that crop up, like Jonny's Zombie Flesh Eaters / Dog shit story, are priceless! |
Some really fascinating reads on there, Paul. |
Thank you :) |
Latest interview is up on the site. |
Excellent stuff again :clap::clap: |
Cheers, Rik - I've got another three more in the bag too. |
Cool, look forward to reading them :) |
Enjoyed the interview with Jonny, Paul. I used to go to the film fairs at Sacha's Hotel in Manchester myself. Loved them, half the films i bought i knew next to nothing about, but that was the beauty of it sometimes. Then it was down to the lower level bar to peruse and show off our wares. One or two of the dealers had their places at a multi-floored market hall opposite Afflecks Palace, forgot what it was called, i used to spend stupid amounts in there. |
It was the same at the film fairs in London and surrounding areas - that was part of the charm, not knowing what it was that you were going to pick up. The decent fairs were a couple of months between, so you'd have a bit of time to save some money and have a nice little splurge when you go there. My mate and I soon realised the best thing to do was have a stall - meant you could get rid of what you didn't want, make some cash and best of all, get in a couple of hours before the fair was open to the public when all the best stuff was had ;) |

My mates and i must have been too dim to think of that one at the time. |
It's a shame that they're a thing of the past now. I know that there are some that are still going but from what I've heard they're nothing like what they used to be and there's all manner of tat and dodgy copies being offered about in a blatant fashion. |
Never went to a film fair there, but me and a mate used to go to record fairs there quite a lot. Got quite of few of my rare Iron Maiden vinyl's from them |
