TALL DUDE 7th January 2009 07:35 AM

Dead dudes in the house..great title...shit film!:ack:

siccoyote 7th January 2009 09:05 AM

Yeah Graduation Day, Dinosaur Hell & Chopper Chicks are all boring crap.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 7th January 2009 10:21 PM

Graduation Day crap?

vincenzo 7th January 2009 10:25 PM

The roller-skating scene is pure Xanadu. http://www.shameless-films.com/forum...es/biggrin.gif

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 7th January 2009 10:27 PM

Ms Quigley's stripping career began here I believe....;)

NossB 8th January 2009 07:34 AM

Nah. A Chubby faced Linnea Quigley was forced to strip in the movie Evil + Hate = Killer/The Butcher a few years before Graduation Day.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082955/

siccoyote 8th January 2009 11:06 AM

Her bits were shot a couple of years after that quoted release date, otherwise she'd be underage.

Also don't think anyone needed to force her.

Also the reason she got the Graduation Day job was simply because the girl they first got wouldn't take her kit off.

Different sites give different dates for the movie, from what I gather it was released as Wheeler in 1975 then re-released with two extra scenes shot around 1978/79 (although Linnea own site states the scenes were shot around 1982, a year after the final version of the movie was released.)

The stripping scene in question, the character Wheeler forces Linnea to strip after hitting a bar patron with a bottle, then forces her to straddle the unconscious patron nude.

I wish I hadn't lost my copy of this film, I really liked the soundtrack.

siccoyote 8th January 2009 03:09 PM

It was the first Pre-Certs I ever bought, I know the scene :D

Also another give away her scenes were shot later is that the 'psycho' has very different hair during that scene than any other point in the film.

NossB 8th January 2009 03:17 PM

I've found that Cinemageddon has two versions up on their site, I feel I'm going to break my no downloading rule on this one; After all, no DVD company has the stones to release this film, as only about a handful of people would ever buy it.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 12th January 2009 05:48 PM

Anyone think of any other TROMA 'classics' not already mentioned?:)

NossB 12th January 2009 05:57 PM

Though no classic, I've got a soft spot for Stuck On You!

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 12th January 2009 05:59 PM

A comedy Noss....never seen that....
Almar, what type of Troma's did your client have in mind?
Was it just the horror films or maybe a bit of everything?
Hope you don't mind me asking!:o

NossB 12th January 2009 06:20 PM

Stuck On You is the best of the four pre-Toxie Kaufman directed sex comedies, but don't let reviews like "This is the absolutely worst movie I have ever seen and the only movie in my life where I have walked out of the theatre before the end of the film. I don't know how anyone can produce such pure garbage. Totally moronic!" put you off seeing it though.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 12th January 2009 06:46 PM

:rofl:A classic then Noss?:D

Actually I don't know - we'd bandied about some titles a while back - the usual suspects but I held off pushing it because I thought it likely needed a decent launch but wasn't quite sure in my mind if it would work. We were due to meet-up last week to have a chat but that got postponed so once that's back on maybe I'll have more to report. I should also have news on a US horror label coming on over the waters this year - could be an interesting year.

It is in a way, I've been trying to find the trailer for it online so you can judge for yourself.

It's in the Screamingroom

Someone Weird 19th January 2009 10:06 PM

Bravo used to show alot of Troma films/releases with a short intro show to the films featuring two guys and a gorgeous blonde with massive tits. I don't think it was 'Troma Edge TV', which is an extra on some Troma discs featuring Lloyd Kaufman. Not sure what the name of the programme was, but it would make a decent extra - I'd like to see those tits...erm, that show, again.

'Poultrygeist' is fantastic. Infact, its quickly become one of my all time faves. Hilarious, bloody, well acted, some fine songs....'Citizen Toxie' was great too, as was 'Terror Firmer'. They've done some great stuff over the last 10 years. Infact, some of the best films in the last 10 years. The original 'Toxic Avenger' is another fave, and it would be good to see the uncut VHS version that sneaked out in the UK as that was the fullest version ever released (inc. Melvin tripping in the garden on his way out to the club - I miss that brief shot). 'Class of Nuke 'Em High' is another Troma goodie, but like Toxie 2 & 3, the sequels aren't any good.

Of some of the Troma pickups, 'Redneck Zombies' I shouldn't like, as its pretty crappy, but it actually has its moments and some chuckles, and 'Rabid Grannies' is great fun uncut. I'd like to see 'Frostbiter' again, but remember it being possibly very wanky.

Wade through the crap, and Troma have done a lot of good stuff, and Lloyd Kaufman is a comedy genius. His appearance on the Morton Downey Jnr. show would be a good extra on a disc. I'd love to see a UK label release these uncut in the UK with some neat-o extras (like that Bravo show), even though I have some of the Troma discs, I'd double dip in support for much of the above.

NossB 19th January 2009 10:19 PM

I think the show that Troma produced for Bravo was called TROMA’S BASEMENT.

NossB 1st February 2009 08:39 PM

Troma do hardcore porn:

The Secret Dreams of Mona Q

It's more or less a micro budget, hardcore porn version of Stuck On You

Someone Weird 24th February 2009 08:06 PM

Re: Troma's Basement

You're right....an episode was actually included as an extra on their disc of Igor and the Lunatics.

NossB 25th February 2009 11:19 AM

Nice, just ordered the DVD for that extra alone... The film itself is complete pish and fipsy.

Kyle 15th December 2009 07:10 AM

Any Troma fans?

any troma fans?

have you ever looked at their webstore? if you have you will have probably noticed that the dvd's are quite cheap but the postage is $75.00 for the first item $3.50 for each additional item

so i thought what if a bunch of us made an order together, and split the cost!

anybody in :poke:, we will need a few of us to make it like normal postage costs

Gigantor 15th December 2009 12:00 PM

Yeah Troma makes it really hard for you to order from them directly. For TROMA stuff you're better off ordering their stuff from another company/store

Stephen@Cult Labs 15th December 2009 01:59 PM

That's like the Fullmoon website.Only shipping option available is global priority airmail starting at $60  Pretty ridiculous.

Gigantor 15th December 2009 02:08 PM

I dont get that,TROMA is also hard to deal with when ordering to

vipco 15th December 2009 02:58 PM

Whats the idea of putting shipping so high.?

Surely they could do it cheaper than that.

Im not really a Troma fan, though Combat Shock's a fantastic movie.

Have you a link to they're store.?

Kyle 15th December 2009 04:39 PM

this what it says on the site

"We ship UPS outside of North America, because when we went with cheaper services, many packages would be lost, which means having to send a second batch of merchandise out and the additional cost of shipping. Since we've switched our policy, not one international package has been lost, and the customer gets their items within a few business days. International rates are expensive due to fuel surcharges imposed by UPS".

BioZombie 16th December 2009 03:38 AM

Surely the best place to get Troma stuff is Amazon marketplace. I very nearly picked up the Tromasterpiece version of Combat Shock for just over 8 quid including postage (realised at the last minute that xmas present out rank personal dvd puchases).

Kyle 16th December 2009 06:54 AM

for some things your probably right, but there is a lot on the site cheaper than amazon

vipco 16th December 2009 11:50 AM

Is thery're stuff R0.?

Kyle 16th December 2009 11:56 AM

yeah i think so vipco

Wolf 8th January 2010 11:02 PM

I tried emailing them saying I didn't give a **** if there was a risk of my package getting lost in the mail and that they should offer posting stuff cheaper at peoples own risk.

Didn't get a response.

It's stupid they charge so much. I've always thought it would put lots of people off buying from them. Which it seems it has done from what you guys are saying. Bit stupid of them to do this really from a financial point of view.

I just keep trying amazon and ebay until copies turn up at an all right price.

Gigantor 9th January 2010 12:47 AM

Stupid but it's actualy cheaper to buy TROMA stuff from other sellers than the actual TROMA site:ohwell:

Are you looking for any TROMA releases in particular BitchSlicer?

re.form 25th January 2010 12:27 AM

I really like some Troma 'in house' productions. Toxie, Class of Nuke em, Poultrygeist etc. There's alot of fun to be had. But some of the films they have chosen to distribute from indie filmmakers are pretty unwatchable. I'll give anything a go, have to finish it because of OCD - and then think 'jeeezus'.

In fairness to Troma they have been going years - against all odds in the states, so fair play to them.

Oh god yeah, I really agree with you on that one. They've put out some truly ****ing awful movies in the past!

Guess they can make some money from it or something. Just can be a bit shit to see a Troma logo on a dvd and then find out the movie is actually insanely boring.

bizarre_eye@Cult Labs 25th January 2010 07:26 AM

Yeah, Troma are a bit hit and miss with some of their titles. I've always had some love for the Toxie series though, and am hoping the new one currently in the works lives up to the others.

Poultrygeist and Terror Firmer are a blast, but some other typical non-tromatastic fare released on their label are worth checking out too IMO. In particular, I've found The Hanging Woman, Combat Shock, and Mother's Day to be worth a look. The Last Horror Film was also pretty interesting (particularly to fans of Maniac... ;)). Still, plenty of Troma stuff I haven't seen, and some of it will undoubtably be garbage unfortunately.
