The reason I collect hardboxes is that it's a throwback to the old videocase days of yore...

I can see the novelty of hardbox DVD releases from a nostalgic perspective. But i'm personally not too fussed on them and think they look a touch out of place in amongst regular DVD cases. Many of them are nice to behold purely from an artistic viewpoint though!

I did once own hardbox versions of Anthropophagous The Beast, Manhattan Baby, Phantom Of Death, Phantasm II, Vengeance and Torso. But i gave 'em all away!

I believe the only titles in this packaging format i have now are the original The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Blastfighter.:)

You gave them away?
I'm sure the person you gave them to was very happy... ;)

As I've said to a few people,I gave my only hardbox that I owned to my cousin who decided to throw away the box when he ran out of space! I'll make sure he never gets his hands on my Four Flies On Grey velvet dvd!

I believe it was cover C that I had.

Edit: I believe it was actually cover B  My memory is playing tricks on me!

Stephen@Cult Labs 28th March 2010 01:18 PM

I got confused there because the picture from cover C is on the inside of my steelbook.

Oh my,just deleted my previous post... ;)
Thought it would fit better in the German thread.

So here's the original post:
"That big hardbox you had could be very rare now... :ohwell:

Cover B was limited to 500 pieces and is an expensive buy nowadays...

Stephen@Cult Labs 28th March 2010 01:20 PM

Right,I'm off to see my cousin and give him a good slap  I did recall that it was limited to 500.

Yeah, I know of a cover B version that sold for about 80 or 90 euros recently, or somewhere around that amount, basically, I know they are rare these days and don't come cheap.
