British Titles you'd like to see in a yellow box

After seeing that cool Union Jack artwork on 'Oasis of Fear',I got to thinking;we've had European films, heard what American titles we'd like to see,so how about some British shockers?
There are so many gems out there just begging for a yellow box.Although I'm eternally grateful to Redemption for releasing Killer's Moon,I'd much rather have seen it in a Shameless package.........;)

Here's a few to start:
EXPOSE UNCUT
INVITATION TO HELL
LINK
SCREAMTIME
SUFFER LITTLE CHILDREN
SITTING TARGET

C'mon people,give us some more........:woot:

Angel 11th July 2008 08:13 PM

The Shuttered Room

Mojo 11th July 2008 09:19 PM

Scream...And Die!
The Mutations
Dark Places
:)

gore64 12th July 2008 09:20 AM

I second Scream... And Die! An obscure Larraz title that deserves a wider audience. Can't see it being a big seller though.

Paul@TheOverlook 12th July 2008 10:23 AM

Hey Reaper, SITTING TARGET is an old MGM release and is owned by Warner.

It's not, no - I have the old pre-cert VHS (on MGM). That said, it's frequently shown on TCM, so get it taped!

Talking of SPLIT SECOND, my mate's dad was the assistant director on that film...

Love to see larraz's symptoms getting the yellow box treatment.A very obscure frightener which has had only one tv showing to my knowledge, back in 1989.
Wish i hadnt taped over it now!:(

Well one British gem that is now out on DVD is Michael J. Murphy's Invitation To Hell + The Last Night.

The new DVD label "Sarcophilous Films" have a whole load of Murphy films lined up for release and it's about time too as Murphy is one director I've been very eager to check out since seeing the excellent Invitation To Hell.

I've just ordered myself a signed copy for $30 (damn the crappy currency exchange rate ) but I'm delighted to own it at last. Uncut, digitally remastered, tons of special features and double billed with The Last Night :D. I had been after the Pre-Cert for ages too so am glad I resisted spending silly money.

So who else is getting one?

Was the VIPCO (?) release Adi Amin ( you know who I mean , I cant bloody spell it ) Br itish.??
That would be worth buying as well.

Oh yes. This has been on my wish list for a while.

Isn't this title tied up in some sort of rights issue though?

mark meakin 3rd December 2008 08:09 AM

The Shuttered Room is owned by a major (Warner AFAIK)The BEST BUY version doubled with It (1966) goes on general release this week or next & it's quite possibly r1/2 like the other Warner doubles like When Dinosaurs Ruled The Earth/Moon Zero Two.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 3rd December 2008 05:53 PM

THE DEVILS THE DEVILS THE DEVILS THE DEVILS :D:jest:

cloud 3rd December 2008 06:01 PM

Whoever the ****ing hell was responsible for that apparent front cover for The Devils last year ought to be shot. That was a really cruel joke.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 3rd December 2008 06:19 PM

Pathetic,wasn't it?

Daemonia 4th December 2008 11:41 AM

Okay, let's be having these on Shameless DVD please :D

The Squeeze
Legend of the Werewolf
The Ghoul
Dr Blood's Coffin
The Devils
Dream Demon
Hardware
Horror Hospital
Vault of Horror

Hysteria
The Shuttered Room
Tales That Witness Madness

mark meakin 4th December 2008 01:10 PM

A Tyburn box set would be nice on the shelf with:-
PERCECUTION
LEGEND OF THE WEREWOLF
THE GHOUL (Extended version like the old Taste Of Fear video)

Horror Hospital has a nice release over in the States from Elite. You can get it in the British Horror box set (Inseminoid / Tower Of Evil / Curse Of The Voodoo) for under a tenner on Amazon and the PQ on all is top notch.

Hardware is available in Germany and can be bought from eBay for cheap. I have it and to be honest found it a bit of a slog. It hasn't aged well at all, great Industrial soundtrack though.
I understand the German disc is a bootleg however...

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 4th December 2008 08:33 PM

Yep the ELITE Brit horror discs are top notch....;)

Yes, I think so but with Four Flies on Grey Velvet and My Bloody Valentine uncut (maybe???) being released soon, you never know! :)

Pete Walker + a load of horror stalwarts - how could you go wrong? Guess I'll just keep my eyes peeled for the VHS...

Daemonia 6th December 2008 10:45 AM

I'd also like to see a release of the uncut version of Corruption. Even in truncated form it's a demented little gem and not the kind of thing you'd expect to see Peter Cushing in. Come on, Shameless, you know you want to... :)

And I'll also add Nothing But the Night. Brilliant film (although a lot of reviewers seem to dislike it) and long overdue for a DVD release. Please...? Pretty please with a cherry on the top..? :D

Killer Meteor 22nd March 2009 12:42 AM

I'd like an anamorphic Gorgo!

Pete 22nd March 2009 03:57 PM

I heard Horror Hospital was going to be released in the UK as special edition, no sign of it though.:(

That's a coincidence, I just watched that tonight.

it was anamorphic but quite obviously from an old video master complete with sharpening halos, I'm sure the film could look a lot better but I'm guessing with the kind of releases it's been getting there's either no prints surviving so no one can or it's fell into PD so no-one will.

Paul 24th March 2009 10:22 PM

I'd love to see a quality release of Dream Demon!

I would love to see this, but it is owned by Sony in the UK I believe. Was released in Spain but only in their censored version.

Certainly would suit the Shameless series.

Love that one Reaps. It's a really underated horror in my opinion. :thumb:

Brilliant film mate.
It's got the lot.Nudity, gore, violence and atmosphere.

Vey underrated indeed and deserves a decent outing on disc.

I have the ELITE disc, but as far as I can remember, there's not much else bar the film.:(

I've got the Italian DVD - it's a fun flick.

Pretty sure it's either out or coming out in one of the Scandinavian countries.
