| I'm not a big fan of Michael Jackson, but no one can deny that when it came to performing and musical talent, the guy was a genius. Pay your respects here. BTW no arguments or insinuations. This is for paying your respects and discussing his music and videos only. Anyone who posts inflammatory remarks, faces a spell in the cooler. RIP to the king of pop.

I wasn't a huge fan of his music (though I do still like the early recordings of the Jackson 5) but he was without doubt a true star and a phenomena. The likes of which we may never see again. Adios Jacko. RIP. |

In spite of his recent troubles, of which I have no opinion, he was undoubtedly a phenomenon in the world of pop. I grew up with the Jackson 5 and I remember the stir that Thriller caused. I feel more sad for those feeling loss, as Michael is at peace now. Still....and I have to say this, it did seem a bit morbid at his memorial concert to have his coffin in front of the stage - but I guess it's no more strange than a glorified wake, I suppose. I just hope people aren't milking his death for their own ends. That would be despicable. I was never fan and I can't say I feel any grief or loss - I've never formed emotional attachments to celebrities. They're strangers, so I don't suppose I would feel anything.

Yeah I thought the casket was a bit strange as well D. But then I suppose that is the land called Hollywood.

I remember the funeral of Elvis (I was 11 then) and even that wasn't as media-conscious as this one. Either way he was sometimes described as the Peter Pan of Pop and, like Peter Pan, I guess he'll never grow old now.

I have never been a fan of MJ but like some people have said he was a true star and phenomenon.

| Hollyweird, more like. I do feel a little angered that those who claimed to be close to him and loved him never tried to protect him or advise him. No offence, but some of his behaviour was a little out-of-step with the rest of society. If he was my mate, I'd have given him a nudge and said 'Hey, dude, that's not really appropriate behaviour - it could easily be misconstrued and land you in hot water'. I think there's a LOT of people in the MJ camp who should be feeling ashamed of themselves for their inaction.

Definetly D.But then you ask yourself, did he go with the flow of his 'advisors' and was it all a big media/publicity hype machine?

| *Bounce* So the physician accused of killing Michael Jackson, has been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter. I can't help thinking that he had been judged, and found guilty, before the trial has even started

it did seem that way. I haven't followed the case closely enough to have an opinion, but clearly MJ fans had already proclaimed themselves Judge, Jury and Executioner.
