Ok, very short review... Solid Poliziottescho/giallo crossover with an assassin who looks a lot like the killer in Blood and Black Lace (which can't be bad) and seems unstoppable. No real "amateur detective" so it's more focused on the policeman's actions like in Black Belly of the Tarantula (to just name another Poliziottescho/giallo crossover). Nice jazzy soundtrack. Technical: Mastered from the negative with a few very short inserts. The inserts (from a lesser source): The sex scene with Susan Scott has some additional footage and a short part of a conversation has been added. The print looks beautiful, the inserts look decent. I think this could have done without the inserts (or including them as an extra would have been an option) but some people may think otherwise. I'm sure Camera Obscura just took the decision to use them because otherwise some people would say the dvd was missing footage...this was mastered from the negative btw which didn't include the inserted footage. It was also impossible to secure a print with the "missing footage". There are some nice extra's as well. |

Btw There's plenty of blood and the killings are nicely done for the most part,I only thought one killing was a bit lacking. Just don't expect brutal butchery! Seems the killer is mostly into stabbing and throat-slicing. The movie starts with this shot of a woman found murdered,to give you an idea.... |

watched it last night and it is a fantastic release. highly recommended,bi-lingual menus, cool extras, english subtitles for all extras and interview, great print. But ultimately what i like best about this disc is that this film has had no proper release for such a long time, and now this neglected film has had the full vip treatment by Camera Obscura.Highly recommended.I just hope that these releases continue to do well for them because i wont be happy if they fall by the wayside like other small labels. For instance,if anybody like myself, was looking forward to the polselli special editions later this year from sarcophilous. Then take a look at their website, apparently they have not yet gone bust, but it doesnt sound good at all.fingers crossed |

I hope La Orca will be released soon since there's been no news about that one. In any case I will keep supporting Camera Obscura. I've always said I'd rather buy a more expensive "definitive" release than double or triple dip on "improved versions" which end up costing me more. |

They're aiming for a late summer release for La Orca. They'll be releasing Virgins of the Seven Seas in June though, unless the date as been pushed back.

That's another long wait then,I wish they would release La Orca first... Virgins of the Seven Seas is a crazy and rare title to release,I wonder if it's popular in Germany since it's a German co-production with Shaw Bros? I guess it shows courage from CO and I like that. Will have to get it. Here's the German trailer, the German dub is priceless. http://www.tv1.at/video/3080/karate-...-blonde-katzen |

Here's what I undestand their release slate to be this year: Virgins of the Seven Seas (June) Inferno + La Orca + Wild Beasts + Libido mania (late summer) Eden and After (fall) Interesting slate indeed. |

We will receive the new LA ORCA transfer next month, and are already very excited to see how it turned oout...! VIRGINS is actually pretty popular in Germany and extremely sought-after by grindhouse afficionados. And yes, the German dub is incredibly hilarious, and we did our best to mirror this in the English subtiltes (which isn't easy at all, believe me). |
