[QUOTE=Peter Neal;51516]In no particular order:

"Worst censored Horror DVD of the 00s":

The cut by 25 (!) mins German sellthrough version of "Gutterballs"!

Yeah I have noticed that Germany has really gone crazy with their censoring of movies.

Unlike the BBFC or Scandinavian ratings boards, the German censors- to a more or lesser extent- have never really left their hard policies since the 80's video witchhunts.

Storm Warning was quite suspensful and atmospheric,not to mention violent.I enjoyed it.

How about VALENTINE and CHERRY FALLS?

I have been wanting to see Storm Warning for a while now... it's a case of too many films, too little time unfortunately!

Cherry Falls is a steaming pile of shite. What's Valentine about? You don't mean the remake of My Bloody Valentine do you? If so I haven't seen it, but am curious to - mainly for the 3D!

"My Bloody Valentine 3D" is great fun if you have a thing for 80's slashers- "Valentine" on the other hand is a deliberately toned down late addition to the post "Scream" wave of glossy teen slashers, which got softened by the studio (Warner) as a reaction to the media backlash directly after Columbine, though all its bits of gore had previously passed the MPAA for the "R Rating"
"Best" bit about it? Denise Richards in a bikini...If that doesn't float your boat, then I'd seriously skip that one.

"Cherry Falls", again, was heavily cut and, like "Valentine", is one of those early DVD releases, which never got the benefit of an "unrated" release.
This time though, it were reportedly MPAA requested cuts.

I've always had a soft spot for Cherry Falls, such a deprived premise that it's hard not to like. I'd love the chance to finally see the director's cut of that. Apparently the MPAA requested lots of cuts to the orgy scene at the end... Not hard to see why given the time it was released!

If im honest this has been a crap decade for horror, I was watching a documentary on horror and I think John Landis said Horror reflects the era its made in and I thought about it it's so true horror recently has been hollow and shite remind of something ??? well im hoping this next decade will be brilliant with John Carpenter, John Ladis making comebacks and the new guys im hoping it will be a great decade

PS I hope the weinstein company goes bust and the weinsteins will no longer ruin Film by remaking American Werewolf in London and Hellraiser with planned non horror remake Shortcircuit and a desire to make scream 4,5,6 and Spy kids 4
