Agreed and i like to think Arrow would've blessed us with more bonus material. Still, an essential purchase though and my HMV pre-order of both DVD and BR copies has been in for a while.

Agreed also and i reckon if it was Arrow on the case they could’ve gotten the relevant Giallo guru to say a few words. Jones and Newman too.

Agreed again!

As for commentary track, Shameless have never given loads of extras as they prefer to spend their money on top notch restorations and getting the audio perfect! It's just a result of their budget which (as has been said many times before on other threads) is even smaller than Arrow's. Arrow can afford to invest in both the film and the extras, for Shameless it's a choice between the two so they tend to leave the extras off. |
Admittedly, i've learned from past experience not to expect
too much from any 'big' Shameless announcement. The words ‘missed opportunity’ and ‘disappointment’ can
sometimes spring to mind despite my liking of the label. So far all of the company's director and/or fan edition titles have been
decent or
good contributions but nothing truly
great yet imo. The only one of the relevant releases to come close to competing with Arrow's offerings is
Cannibal Holocaust and i have to be honest and say i don't get quite as excited about Shameless titles as i do about Arrow's. That said the former's efforts are less prone to product problems than the latter! However, i'm still only too happy to buy any Shameless output that interests me and i do want to see the label getting better and better as time goes by. The U.K. acquisition of
FFOGV is definitely a step in the right direction make no mistake and i wish this release every success.
I also dearly hope to see Shameless tackle the likes of
Zombie Creeping Flesh,
Rats:Night Of Terror and
Burial Ground sooner or later. I want to see improved British editions of these terrible 'n' terrific trash titles!
