Agreed...

Lots of things viewed these past 2 weeks...

WATERWORLD
Fun well produced mad max at sea. Costner is cool as the marina and the production design on the attol is incredible. Enjoy it everytime i see it, i only wish someone would release the 175 minute directors cut.

MASTER OF THE WORLD
Very fun Jules Verne adaptation with a great role for Vincent Price and an unusual role for Charles Bronson.

THE DEPARTED
Seen this many times and while it's not Marty's best film, it's still a brilliantly constructed Crime thriller. We need more films like this.

TRICK 'R' TREAT
Forgot how fun this 80s horror throwback was, some nice gore and some great horror moments. Definitely worth a watch.

TRICK OR TREAT
I've only seen bits of this when we screened it for a room of people as i was pre-occupied with other things at the time this was shown, now watching it all the way through i can say that i really enjoyed it and it's a shame it's not more widely available. Great metal soundtrack too.

CRADLE WILL FALL AKA BABY BLUES
The DVD cover that accompanies this film on Letterboxd gives the wrong impression of the film, it's not about a mutant killer baby, it;s actually about Post-partum Psychosis and one woman's breaking point. Sure it does involve the killing of her children which can be seen as exploitation but it's a very well made film and it's exceptionally acted. Recommended

STASH HOUSE
Not your typical Dolph vehicle, this had a great premise and some great performances, Sort of a variation on the home invasion genre. Well worth a watch..

EXPENDABLES 2
So much better and bigger than the first. Loved every action packed minute of it. You can read my review of it here EXPENDABLES 2 REVIEW

CODE OF SILENCE
Superior Norris Vehicle that apparently started life as a script for a dirty harry movie, good direction from Andrew Davis helps and Dennis Farina thinking of ways to make moolah is a good running gag.

LILIES OF THE FIELD
A change from the ultra-violence, this is a wonderful film with a stella central performance from Sidney Poitier. Highly recommended.

AMERICAN PIE: THE REUNION
Not the best of the series, not by a long shot but still a fun comedy which is great to see the original Full cast back.

TWENTY8K
A little different to the usual crime ridden sarf Larndarn hoody crime film, but not that that makes this any better, Some Ok performances and some stylish shots of london does not make up for the fact that it looks less professional than some Channel 4 drama's.

HONEYMOON IN VEGAS
Pretty funny comedy with a great performance from James Caan but never really realised that Nic Cage has made a career from overacting.

THE LOVED ONES
Darkly comic and outstandingly nasty 'torture porn' from the land down under. With a brilliant psychotic performance by Robin McLeavy as Lola that reminded me of Kathy Bates in Misery. Highly recommended.

CABIN IN THE WOODS
It's going to have to take something even more original in the horror genre to beat this and i can't see anything on the horizon just yet. Absolutely incredible film, plays with horror movie stereotypes and goes ****ing bugnuts crazy during the final 20 minutes. Best film of the year for me so far.

THE LAST EXORCISM
Actually really enjoyed this mock doc about a preacher who is losing faith. Not entirely scary with some quite tame jump scares. Everyone i've spoken too hated the ending but i loved it.
