Watched Night Was Our Friend (Micheal Anderson, 1951)
Watched this on Talking Pictures at mates. Recently reissued by Renown? Definitely worth a punt, though, if your fond of "terribly British" films ahem. Plus Micheal Gough's in it. SOLD!!

Also watched Hustle (1975, Robert Aldrich)
Burt Reynolds in gritty mode. As befits an Aldrich film, the tone is somewhat less than heroic, Paul Winfiled gets the line of the film imo, and for a major release, a fairly downbeat ending....kudos!!

The Long Goodbye (1975, Robert Altman)
Where another Bob drags Chandler kicking and smoking into the 70s...never do favours is the moral here it seems...hadn't seen this since it was on Moviedrome ahem. won't be leaving it that long again!!
