hey iluv, Death proof was a complete misfire. For a director who constantly goes on and on about how much he loves the old grindhouse movies of the seventies he completely missed the mark, two hours of woman talking absolute nonsence then ending with a miss match of switchblade sisters and Vanishing Point.
if you watch closely you'll see that when the films second half starts, he looses the whole roughed up, degraded print and is just plain old film...Planet terror pulled off the whole grindhouse thing ten times better that Death Proof, kill bill proved he knew genres and Basterds shows the man can direct, but this was a poor excuse and he took it canne's....
