Whilst the follow up (Hell Up In Harlem) is more brazen, this is a more measured if technically rougher piece, all while using the signifiers of the genre to the hilt. The Hammer wants a slice of the action baby ... an' he aint too fussy 'bout who he slices up to get it
. Fortified by the James Brown ST, this trundles along a beaten path, but in bettah shoes nigger!! Ahem. Part of my LC revival, HUIH needs a rewatch anyhow.
