"Death Wish" and "Death Wish 2" are excellent I agree, while "Death Wish 3" is a bit more of a send up. To be honest they should have called it a day after that.

My kind of people! I've encountered so much snobbery about these movies on the net in the past. For me they rank:

DW 2 - Like the previously mentioned sleazy atmosphere, and I love the set up of him having a secret apartment to do his thing from.

DW 1 - Kind of slow, but it's a good introduction, and I like how he's not instantly super vigilante. He messes up, and indeed throws up.

The rest I'm not that keen on but they probably go:

DW 3
DW 4
DW 5

Looks like I'm the only person here who actually likes DW5.I'll just put it down to me having zero taste.

Death Wish & Death Wish 2 are the only ones I'd consider owning on DVD, I'd watch the others but wouldn't fork out for them.

I have only seen the first two, that being enough to put me off watching any of the others. Thought they were pretty dreadful films, but the original was noticeably less dreadful than the second.

So Death Wish for me.
Bronson takes on mobster Michael Parks after the lovely Lesley Anne Down gets face surgery via a mirror and then shot in the back. The police tell him not to, he ignores them and kills everyone (including one by poisoned pastry), Parks falls in acid, and Bronson lives happily ever after.
There you go.

Just ordered the anamorphic uncut versions of 3, 4 and 5. Have seen 3 before and really enjoyed it in a 'bad movie' way. Looking forward to seeing 4 and 5 just for the gunplay.

1 is an out and out classic for me and 2 laughably enjoyable.

Death Wish 2 is a wretched piece of shit - the first one is, and always will be a great movie.

Oh, and the third one is enjoyable in a really stupid way.
