No offence, but is someone having a laugh with that? It's surely got to be temp art?

it is on Amazon, just had a look.

Stephen@Cult Labs 8th April 2011 06:55 PM

What makes me think it's not the final artwork is the font for the title. Exactly the same as the Bronx Warriors releases.

Demdike@Cult Labs 8th April 2011 06:56 PM

 It would certainly attract attention.

bizarre_eye@Cult Labs 8th April 2011 07:37 PM

Looks to me like temp art too.

Some of these e-tailers still have temp art up for a lot of the much older titles too, for some reason.

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 8th April 2011 07:51 PM

It looks like temporary art to me to, hence why the picture is so small and lacking in detail. In any case, nothing has been announced here and I doubt Amazon would have the exclusive.

Amertume 8th April 2011 08:32 PM

I sure hope that's temp art! :D;)

Sarah@Cult Labs 11th April 2011 10:18 AM

This is the final art but Amazon certainly don't have an exclusive on this! What they haven't revealed is that this is a special lenticular sleeve. I'm posting an animated GIF below for you to see the lenticular art in action!

EDIT: I have now changed this post to include the most up-to-date version of the GIF!

I don't know... I simply post a picture of a half-naked girl hanging from a light fitting and and you just have to lower the tone... ;)

Demdike@Cult Labs 11th April 2011 11:17 AM

As this artwork is still on Amazon, it would be interesting to know if pre orders for this title are higher than other releases. - The seduction of the gullible.

It's true - I need moderated... like in the image!

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 11th April 2011 12:31 PM

It's amazing how hypnotic that GIF becomes after a minute or so!

Pete 11th April 2011 12:34 PM

Sorry don't like it.

Argentofan 11th April 2011 02:58 PM

I quite like it actually... I have no idea why though.

Stephen@Cult Labs 11th April 2011 04:51 PM

I think this is my least favpourite Shameless atwork so far. With it being a lenticular cover, are we still getting reverse artwork for this one?

Don't mind the image and it'll look OK as a lenticular when it's in your hand.

But watching it as a GIF is just horrible, makes Milian look like buffoon. Anyone who doesn't know the film will think he's a retard who pulls stupid faces based on that.

I'm not too keen on it I'm afraid. I like the idea of a lenticular cover (although not sure how this affects the prospect of reverse artwork - is it a slipcase or part of the dvd cover itself?) but it just doesn't do it for me sadly. Although I haven't seen the film when I look at that cover I think 'torture porn', not 'Italian cop movie'.

Isn't that the idea though? To sell the DVD to people who would otherwise have passed this one up. The covers are designed to grab attention and sell copies.

Putting tits and blood on the cover will sell more copies in HMV even if it's not representative of the film's content.

Paul@TheOverlook 11th April 2011 05:55 PM

This is go to sell shed-laods with that cover. Mark my words.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 11th April 2011 06:04 PM

Weeble wobble. :eyebrows:

The reverse art will be interesting then.....

Djangooo 11th April 2011 06:29 PM

Plus her breasts are pretty fantastic... that certainly doesn't hurt.

It's certainly easy on the eye. ;)

I'm wondering that myself.

Good question! And the answer is that I haven't the foggiest!

I will find out though!

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 11th April 2011 06:57 PM

Surely it's a slipcase.....

bdc 11th April 2011 07:03 PM

Will HMV sell a dvd with a cover like that?
Or will there be a strategically placed sticker? ;)

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 11th April 2011 07:05 PM

Underagers-start growing the bumfluff now!

I have no confirmation of this but my guess is there will be some sticker work going on... ;)

stefanmetal 11th April 2011 07:52 PM

I love the simplicity of the image, personally it sells it for me.

You'd think so. If so then surely there'd be no reverse artwork unless the disc comes with some sort of plastic holder to display the slipcase in the event to you displaying the aternate artwork beneath the slipcase. Or else what are you meant to do with the slipcase? :)

Thanks Sarah!

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 11th April 2011 08:31 PM

Anyone got any alternate artwork for this one?

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 11th April 2011 08:45 PM

I don't think you can put a lenticular image on a piece of paper so I would guess that image would be on a slipcase containing an Amaray with a reversible sleeve. I wouldn't put any money on that -- it's just how I see things panning out with a lenticular image as part of the release.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 11th April 2011 08:50 PM

Yeah,I'd put my money on that.

Sarah@Cult Labs 12th April 2011 08:30 AM

Righty, the lenticular image will be on a card the same size as the front part of a DVD inlay. It will slip inside the plastic sleeve over the standard inlay. This is to make it so that the lenticular image can be slipped out and displayed independently of the DVD case if you so wish.

As there will be a regular inlay as well as the lenticular image, there will be reverse artwork as well.

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 12th April 2011 08:49 AM

That seems like a good idea and at least I was partly right! I'd probably keep the lenticular card on display rather than putting it on the shelf with my other Shameless DVDs.

Great idea and you've gotta love the lenticulars! Just a quick question (or two ;)).. What made Shameless decide to do a lenticular for this particular release and are there any future titles planned to have similar treatment? Thanks in advance.
