There is no comparison between the 2. The sepia version has age, warmth, distinction, style, and pure cinematic visual appeal... whereas the black and white version lacks all of these, and in fact reminds me of the 3rd generation bootlegs of the uncut copies that were doing the rounds in the late 80s, completely devoid of colour. Completely devoid of personality and vibrancy.

I'm certain Arrow wouldn't release an inferior product to the public deliberately, especially one with such fan appeal as The Beyond. Doing so could be commercial suicide as word spreads:

This has to be corrected before release. If not the adverse affect on Arrow would be catastrophic.

Which is why I have every confidence it will be.

I think Two Evil Eye's was one of their only other messy release's as you couldn't watch the thing as an entire film and instead had to watch the two stories separately. Shame they never corrected that one.
