Default Savage Streets – The Film Debate

If you have seen the film, what you think about it? Brilliant or trash, or somewhere in between?

Brilliant trash IMO.
Has all the neccessary ingredients of a good exploitation flick.
Oh and an excellent pair of attractions.

Couldn't agree more; a fun little revenge flick.

I'm glad Arrow have picked this up, as I waited around too long before snapping up the BCI release before it went OOP and started selling for silly money. I've been tempted to pick up the AWE release; but now there's no need as we have a nice UK release to look forward to!

I currently have the AWE release-sold the U.S. one for £20!

The Arrow package looks like the biz though!

Something that surprised me about the film was Linnea Quigley (a very young Linnea Quigley) not playing a Scream Queen, but someone who gives a nuanced and sympathetic performance as a deaf mute, who only shows her breasts because she is forced to!

I wonder when (and why) she decided (or had to for financial reasons) to make the transition from 'serious' actress to someone who generally plays the same kind of role over and over?

From looking at the films that both Linea and Linda did previous and post Savage Streets, I can only assume that they became typecast for exploitation, obviously with such projects Linda did like 'Chained Heat' and Linea going on to do 'night of the demons' etc

It could be compared to the situation Chris Reeve faced with Superman. No one would ever get him as superman out of their heads.

I honestly could not watch a film with Linda Blair (as an adult) without thinking...any minute now she will let the C word go and then get her knockers out....and the big Hollywood players knew this
