Nothing is confirmed at the moment but it was a long list of questions I e-mailed earlier today!

Yep, in proper 'Scope 2.35:1, just the way Tobe Hooper and Andrew Laszlo intended.

Thanks for that, Nos. Just wanted to make sure before I put my order in.

No. Arrow decided that, as they released this on DVD in 2007 (a DVD which is still widely available), there would be little or no demand for a re-release so, in order for this to be financially viable, it would be Blu-ray only.

I find that pretty strange, especially with the generous special features on the BD, and the dvd being basically barebones. I would think most fans who are still dvd only, would buy a special edition dvd.

Although Stephen has got a point, I think that as Arrow is quite a small company, they really have to calculate whether releases will become cash cows or not.

Whenever there has been an acceptable DVD before it makes sense to concentrate on a Blu-ray release.

In my case, I'd nearly always go for the Blu-ray anyway. The players aren't that expensive anymore - for about 70 bucks you enjoy the new technology; any movie maniac should be able to afford that.

But if there hasn't been a proper DVD release (or no DVD edition at all) over the past few years, Arrow should release both formats at least for the next 3 years - that will be the time span until Blu-ray dominates, if you ask me.

Greetings!

I do think it's unfair that those who haven't upgraded yet have to miss out.
